So, I've 100% this game. What can I say

Took me around 80 hours to do that, while the game itself took me around 60-65, but you can be sure I took my damn time and explored.

Honestly, the game exceeded my expectations, gameplay wise, story wise, it's art and concept as a whole.

I do not believe western studios could release a game like this yet, I don't even want them to. I have to give big kudos to devs for giving us a fun game, but also giving us a beam into eastern mythology, inspired by one of my favorite literature pieces, Journey to the West.

I will keep this reviews Spoiler Free , but I also advise you to look up Sun Wukong and his story, because the game takes effect AFTER the events of Journey to the West. There are some deviations from the canon for plot purposes, but it's good to know the gist to understand some parts of the story being told, even the first sequence that you play. I am saying all of this, just to make your experience that much better.

So.

Gameplay

I'm actually pleasantly surprised how they captured essence of multiple games I love.
Rest/Respawn as souls series
Stances as Ghost of Tsushima
Flashy cinematic nature as GoW4 and Ragnarok
Snappy hack n slash combat as DmC
Compiling all of these elements and executed at this level, they compliment each other and just.. Work.

You can also use Transformations and turn into Spirits, which is a pretty cool element I like, sometimes can be OP. But that's the thing. You are meant to be OP. Your enemies are aswell at times (I'll get to that in a bit), so why shouldn't you?

Difficulty range is mid/high, prepare to struggle a bit, but the game expects you to adapt to situations, not just steamroll through. All abilities are REFUNDABLE, so don't be scared to change strategies and try something new. There are a handful hard bosses, but not to the levels of Souls series. About 3 bosses have a certain gimmick tied to first beating a secret area of a chapter, to obtain an item to help you with final bosses. But in general, all story bosses are Ok in difficulty. You won't be doing any 50+ attempt sit downs where a boss beats down all of your self confidence a leaves you with a strong urge to buy a rope. (I will not forget what you did Elden Ring DLC)

Combat feels good and rewarding, 3 main play styles that allow you to experiment. BUT, as I said, don't get too comfortable, enemies especially later on can counter your tricks, so you will have to find a way to overcome their bs. Bosses are structured around you not abusing certain build, so It's good to get comfortable with as many mechanics as you can. I've played with every stance for 2 chapters, so I felt comfortable to switch any time. This way I beat most bosses in >5 attempts. Only one boss took me like 30+ attempts and another 10+ attempts (both are actually optional).
Another element from Souls series, especially Elden Ring, that's here, is endless enemy combos. 8-10 chain hit attacks, like a damn ballerina hooked on angel dust spinning around you with no regard to your plans. Shat my pants multiple times, did not lose a single controller though.

One thing I don't like is the lack of a map and world constructed in a way, that has a lot of invisible walls in places that ''seem'' like paths and then some paths I wouldn't expect to go to at first glance. That pushes a player like me to explore everything and that cuts some of the immersion. This can also impact you in a sense of secret areas. Devs literally hid some of the best content in these secret areas and are like ''the ultra cool ♥♥♥♥ is there, but I don't care if you find it bozo LMAO''
Like what. On one hand, that's based af, on another, I COULD'VE EASILY MISSED THAT?

Even with the issue of no map and some weird terrain, this game is carried and excels through NUMEROUS bosses, 80+ actually, with almost all of them being totally different apart from 6 frogs, all fresh, all meat and potatoes, all action. Each chapter having new enemies, new elite enemies, new boss designs tied to chapter theme, just an absolute banger with variety.
So easy 9/10

Story

Absolutely amazing story telling, each chapter has an animation as a reward and they are absolutely stunning. Each made by a different studio, telling stories, tying chapters up, even foreshadowing the next chapter that's coming. I'm glad gameplay wise they allow you to travel back to previous chapters, so you can finish remaining bosses and tie up loose ends. I also STRONGLY advise for you to unlock the secret true ending. (won't elaborate further)
As I stated, this is After the novel, so it's a new story with core material being displayed in full and with pride. I refuse to elaborate for you on anything, better if you experience it yourself, for me for this aspect.
It's a 10/10.

Music

Absolute Cinema
I could be nerd yapping about all of the amazing compositions with strong oriental roots and cultural music instruments, all you need to know is, it slaps and it slaps hard. Thematically crafted, well put together with map concepts that compliment each other and immerse you further into this mystical universe.
Most of the music is on streaming platforms, apart from 1 I couldn't find.
2 pieces went straight into my playlist, both from boss fights.
My ears are very grateful and won't need a fresh climax for a while.
Another easy 10/10

Graphics

Have you seen the trailers or gameplay footage? Do I even need to say more?
I will only add that I couldn't play on max and I have an expensive PC, so I will throw some shade as a tantrum, because I'm petty.
8.5/10

100% Achievements Journey

Oh boy. This one, was some pain. Not an extreme challenge, but there are about 5 achievements that are just... UGH. Farming. Just a bunch of farming. Some of that farming is enemy farming, but a lot of that farming is plants farming. How does that kind of farming work you ask?
Let me explain;
>you pick up materials as ingredients for potions
>there are 15 different ingredients to pick and each have a corresponding seed
>you need to farm ALL of those seeds for an achievement
>some of those ingredients can also drop passive items
>which you also need to get ALL for another achievement
>for these drops, you have a small chance, that you can't augment
>farming locations have around 3-6 spots for ingredients, so 3-6 chances for a drop
> these locations respawn every 30 minutes

Do you know how many runs I had to do? The pain I suffered? Out of those 96 hours I spent in this game till this review, around 10-15 of those were achievement hunting, dying on the inside, sometimes thinking that I'm crazy, that the wiki is wrong, that the gods conspired on me to never get my 100%, but in the end, I got it.
Suck it, Celestial Court
I refuse to rate this part, but it was Not my hardest 100%

Wrap this sh1t up

Game was an all around amazing experience, I don't give out 10/10 reviews, because I don't think a 10/10 game exists yet, but this one is high up there among my favorite games of all time and is an instant classic in my library. I really feel like this game is like if you gave an indie studio an infinite budget, for them to not hold back at all.
It exceeded all my expectations, made me Rock Solid, brought me back to monke, made me emotional, further cultured my ahh and brought joy every time I escaped reality with this title.
I also hear, that DLC is coming out in January next year as a part of Chinese New Years Celebration and I'm Rock Solid again as of mentioning this.

Overall rating, 9.2/10

So, I've been holding this review hostage, due to past problems of the game like bad balancing and bad management but now I can happily release it to the public.

So I've 100% this game, what can I say

Overview

First I gotta say, this is everything I ever wanted. A game, based off of Starship Troopers, in 3rd person, big explosions, propaganda satire, SUPER EARTH, FREEDOM and most importantly DEMOCRACY
I've always wanted to play a 'hero' who's really just cannon fodder for a cause, that's not necessarily so goo-

We apologize dear citizen, seem like this review is under investigation due to possible treason and should not be taken seriously.

I just love, that the community, keeps up this charm and humor that comes with satiric propaganda, aswell as a concept that rewards helping each other instead of PvP games, which can be more polarizing. As I've leveled up, it feels good helping other players or doing many tasks myself solo. Feels rewarding most of the time.

Gameplay

Absolutely crisp, guns feel great, good amount of options, armors are all right, but not necessary (you can just go for style points without impeding on the gameplay too much). Currently this patch, most guns I always loved are absolute blast to play with. There was a big problem in the past, where they nerfed most good guns into the oblivion, but thankfully, they fixed it all. That's a big reason why my review is released right now.

Apart from very cool gun variations, you have this neat thing called Strategems
I would describe it as a magical shiny pokeball, that you throw with a certain code of buttons and depending on what you choose and where you throw it you can get...
Special Weaponry Pod, Shield backpacks, Jet Packs, Turrets, Airstrikes, Orbital barrages, 500KG BOMB among other cool sh*t.
Absolute blast to rip apart Ugly bugs or dirty communistic robots. ABSOLUTE HONOR TO SERVE WITH YOU SOLDIER

One more thing about gameplay, it's a mission oriented game, so you're gonna be looping around 10 types of mission, but the variety comes in planets and difficulty possibilities. Different planets have different effects as well as bug and robots are drastically different obviously. So you need to have different strategies for different foes and in the end, it's a good amount of variety. You also have 10 difficulties to choose from, right from '1 - picking flowers with the Bugs' right up to '10 - apparently me, myself and I am meant to clean up a whole f>*king army??'
Basically bigger diff, bigger waves, bigger enemies, bigger brown spot in my pants and bigger rewards.

Gameplay is 9.2/10 - I got a bit tired of it after 80hrs, but I'm back bby <3

Graphics

Absolutely majestic, by this point optimized, very pretty eye candy, especially the explosion. For some reason it's a mans dream, to throw a signaling beacon and drop a mushroom cloud upon Insect colonies. Very giga and much chad.
Apparently the game runs better very high, rather than high, because very high is optimized? Very confusing

Graphics, if I overlook past problems, currently 9/10

Music

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE STRONG 'PATRIOTIC' strong tuba and trumpet symphonies playing in your ears causing all kinds of emotions. One part I love about this game, is the moment when you are going to your pod.. and deploy
Right at that moment the theme starts playing and you actually feel like a very important war hero on another action packed battle (even tho you are essentially an ant in warfare)
There is not a whole bunch of music, which takes it away from me a bit, but I can respect how effective these pieces are.

And for that, 8.5/10 , I am pleased.

Story

Honestly, there is some story, but it's not that important, I swear, I am fully committed to Super Earth and would never say anything negative please officers I am an upstanding citizen...
I like the concept, that even though it is presented as such, we're not necessarily the good guys. There are deep rabbit holes you can go on, about how the insects are a cause of the humans and how the robots are just rebels to a pretty dictatorial regime, but I want you to find out more yourself. I don't feel like I'm spoiling anything, because it's not really a story driven game. But the story is there and it's fairly interesting.

Due to the fact it's not a big factor, but it IS there, I'll give it a solid 7/10

100% Achievements Journey

Honestly, it wasn't that much of a challenge. I believe that around 80-90% of achievements you can get naturally, if you explore your options. There is only about 3 fairly hard ones and 1 Very Hard in my opinion. The hardest one to pull off was the 'Gone in 360 seconds!'
You have to finish the mission in 6 minutes. The catch is, when you call for extraction, you have to wait for the ship to arrive 3 minutes. So you've got yourself whopping 180 seconds, to finish the mission you're on! The way we got it, is basically me and my friend going a short variant mission, where I would super speedrun objectives, while he was camping the extract base, so he can call it as soon as I finish.
Ended up having around 8 seconds to spare. Very hard challenge, but not impossible.

All in All 8.7/10 experience

Bugs

There are many types of bugs, small bugs, big bugs, armor bugs, spitting bugs, flying bugs and daddy longlegs bugs. Other than that, there are some minor gameplay bugs, like getting stuck on a texture or ragdolling in some way. I've encountered a game breaking bug 3 times, but not once recently.

I've put this category in here because I wanted to talk about bugs

10/10

Wrap this up Review Man

OK! This game is a bunch of fun. I've had a lot of solo fun, I've had a lot of fun with friends, I've even had a lot of fun in pub lobbies. Which was a pleasant surprise for a 2012 COD lobby enjoyer like myself. I advise you to play the sh*t out of this game. You. Yes you, I'm talking to you. Tell your boyfriend, your brother, your grandma and your dog to buy this and log in to some hardcore 4 player action. you won't regret it.
I gave this game bunch of sh*t in the past, but f*ck bro, it redeemed itself for me and I can finally kill some scum commie robots in peace.

Final Rating - 9/10

I've 100% this game, so what can I say.

Hades has been one of the most pleasurable roguelike games I've played, you already KNOW Imma buy da 2nd one as soon as it comes out.

The gameplay feels fast and fresh, game gives you a bunch of fun builds and broken combinations. You've got 6 weapons with 4 different styles for each weapon and some interesting keepsakes (passive items, around 30 of them) that keep the game enjoyable and in pace on higher difficulties.

OH GOD, NOW LET ME TELL YOU. THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE DIFFICULTIES IN A GAME. I love how they made the system, so that you can steadily up the difficulty with adding elements without it feeling cheap.
Such as; the amount of enemies, their health, less items to pick from, more damage, more expensive shops, upgrading bosses, adding timer for floors, giving enemies shields, basically many way to cripple you if you feel like enough of a chad to handle it.

Gameplay experience is a solid 9.5/10

Now the story. I'm a huge sucker for story games and it didn't disappoint. SPOILER FREE
As Zagreus, son of Hades, prince of the underworld, you decide to say F YOU dad, Imma head out, peace. And so you venture from the deepest pits of hell (aka your hell bedroom) to the gates of hell and the surface of the world. Mfker, I ain't saying why, you better play or google it to find out. I'm not your storyteller.
Just know the shiz is funny, pretty accurate to greek lore, relatable at times and it dishes out parts of the lore in a pace that it's just enough to keep you interested for the next run.
FINALLY a gay ahh Achilles professing to Patroclus, Say. Less.
Also got some romantic options, AND THE BEST PART BOUT THAT, you can rizz up all of them with no hindrance, so you can go full hoe mode.

Story is a solid 9.5-10/10 simply because they handled the mythology well and it's entertaining till the end.

Music, now lemme tell you. Soundtracks satisfies me enough, that it never got stale. Not THE MOST EPIC ish I've heard, but I've added the Good Riddance soundtrack to me Spotify and still to this day, I go all high notes and soft bichy voice in my car when noone is around.

Music gets 8/10 bc Good Riddance is just too good imo.

NOW ART. This bad baby got some *crispy* , *lemme simp to these characters* kind of artwork. As a former bad boi, I can get fully enveloped by Zagreuses cool, but awkward by himself look, with resting bich face, but a compassionate heart under all of that.
Areas of this game made me considerably change my view of greek underworld in a good way and now I inspire my imagination of it heavily by this games design.
Bunch of enemy art and design is copy pasted throughout the floors, but the difficulty scaling does genuinely compensate it.
Thank you developers for making the gods, especially Hades look a bit goofy in a good way, really brings the atmosphere to kind of a homey feel with fun and more ''oh, just another day of being a God'' kind of style.

I like it a lot. If you don't like it at all, I'll find where you live. 9/10

As for the price. I don't like paying for games full price. I just buy off of *key shops* or some ish, but this game. Just take my money and don't talk to me. Thank you and good bye.

Overall, I love it, GIVE ME a sequel RIGHT NOW. If Supergiant Games doesn't give me a second game till 2024, I'm willing to summon demons and sell my soul to speed up the process.

Easy 9.5/10 in the rogue like genre

Edit: Since the sequel is coming and it's release date will be told in Q2 2024, I will not be summoning demons and patiently wait instead.

I really like how they've connected the SoM with LotR (i mean the story) but i think it's not deep enought. I would rate it 9/10. It's probably one of my most exciting third person game, but what dissapoints me is the boss fights. I don't mean fighting with capitains and warchiefs, but with main story ones. The last fight is really just made up and it's not even a fight and that is what i just don't like at all. Last boss should be challenging one but it's just 3 clicks to victory. Actually the story line is like 25% of the game what is actually cool and bad in a same way. I think the story for me ended just too fast i am just messing around. Don't take me bad, this game is actually great but the is thing that just SoM don't have, the actuall finishing battle where you can say YES I HAVE BEATEN THE GAME. For all the content i would proudly rate it 10/10 but this is what is putting me down so i can't say this. Anyway i am recommending this game as a great one. :)
