Pretty fun game I guess.

New player here: loved the first game and put almost 100 hours into it and bought all the DLC. I’m playing DD2 on steam deck and struggling with the integration there and looking at combat buffs there mid turn is not really possible. Would love to see a combat log (or be told how to access one if it exists). I’ll watch one of my healers get one shot and then get DOT placed on them so deaths door is harder. I can’t look at a log and figure out what they did so I can counter play.

As a new player, I really don’t have the tools to do most of what people recommend in YouTube videos to do. I also regularly have to make choices between getting revelation abilities to help future runs and sack my current run by not going for the better route.

I find the player damage very underwhelming and my party just can’t do damage as the starting unusual suspects and apparently it gets better if I revelations them perfectly but it’s difficult as a new player. I also am very frustrated by heals being threshold based and find myself at 1-5% above healing thresholds a lot where I’m not comfortable enough attacking and would prefer to use a defensive heal option (not that I have many as a new player). My one good ability right now (the plague doctor backrow attack) has a one turn cooldown for some reason so I can’t stuck up the blight that I’d like to which is really my only option with no candles or skills in early game. The Damage over time the enemies put on me are very over-tuned as well.
I still haven’t even made it to the first official boss at the end of a run as I’m dying to the fire priests or the second area boss fight.
I don’t think I’ll play much past the first boss if I can even make it that far. Would love to see a rework of the heals or allow me to more easily explode squishy enemy targets or at least stun them with the starting hero’s. I don’t wanna hear buy the dlc to use flagellant cause he’s the strongest (which is kinda cringe tbh to paywall the best character).

The units are very unresponsive. Especially infantry. Play Warhammer 2 instead until W3 gets their ♥♥♥♥ together.

Lots of fun and variety, cannot wait for even more maps and characters!

I've found this game far superior to minecraft in mechanics. I can now have colonists do the grinding that I hated to do in minecraft.
