dumb ways to die the video game

fun to play when you haven't got anything to do for an hour or two
definitely more than worth it for the price

fun card roguelike with all sorts of different strategic routes you can go down

dialogue between in-game characters made me actually laugh a couple times, and i cant remember the last time that happened in any game

edit, used to be a positive review: i was enjoying the new update, but over time i noticed a lot of things that added up to me losing any enjoyment in playing. the hydrogen pay to win subscription was the last straw for me, i cant recommend this game anymore

i've seen pretty much everything this game has to offer after 30 minutes of playing. i have 3 more of the blades to unlock, but the game is not fun enough to replay to unlock them.

there are barely any weapons/items to choose from to upgrade yourself with, and as you play you don't unlock any more. the only unlockable are the other blades, and the two that i unlocked are underwhelming.

idk, it feels like this is a demo rather than a full game. it would be worth it if it costed $1 or something

edit: game pretty much is unplayable overseas now due to an update causing a lot of lag, i loved this game but i wouldnt recommend it overseas anymore 😭

fun, despite not liking turn-based games

my only issue is that on occasion you get immediately put in impossible scenarios on turn 1, but the fact that you can't save everyone is part of the fun anyway

Too short, too easy, too little content. I beat the game in 20 minutes, and the only trouble I had was that on the 2nd wave you need to place a 2nd shooter or you'll lose - after that you seem to just spam towers and win.

I was hoping it would be endless, but there are only 20 waves. 'Talents' and 'New game+' are coming soon according to the game, but I think the game should have released at least after some sort of replay value was added, because I feel like there is no reason to play again after winning once. It is fun, kinda, but just feels a bit too chaotic to feel like your choices of tower mean something, and the way price increases per tower incentivises the player to just place the cheapest tower next instead of saving for something more expensive, which isn't very fun. I would recommend to the developer to have the prices of all towers increase (though of course to a lower extent) after buying a tower, rather than having just that tower's price increase - though I understand it would be harder to balance the prices in this case.

The game has potential, I'll probably come back and take another look after future updates, but as it stands the game is not worth buying in its current state.
