I liked this game, and it was worth the asking price. But the devs are slow to add real "game" structure. The majority of this game and it's updates are focused on the sandbox aspect. All fine and good. I would of liked to see gamemodes like Take and Hold and Rotwieners get a ton of love and attention though.

Also, everyone was lead to believe modding this game was simply not in the cards and creating a way to let the community contribute content would not be considered. Well, some smart people got tired of waiting for more content to be added, and found a way to add custom maps and characters to the most popular gamemode, Take and Hold. It's was difficult and janky, but it did work. I created a few horrible Take and Hold levels myself. Damn near instantly, Anton got his hands around the extremely small modding community, threatening to take down anything he didn't approve of, and banning people on reddit from opening inviting others to the modding discord. The devs aren't a very friendly bunch of folks. Nearly every post I see from the [RUST] people are snarky, stuck-up, and can be quite rude. Not to mention Anton using the same Youtube Channel where update videos are posted to make a political statement.

For an early access game, not much has changed since I've first bought it. Hell actually nothing has changed about Take and Hold since my first run.

Enjoy it for what is. It may never be more than that.

For all the people I see complaining of crashes, I personally had zero crashes or extreme performance issues at 3 hours of play. I was expecting way more based on what I was reading. Zero problems frequently alt-tabbing to another monitor too.

Besides that, it's good ol' Warband, hopefully the endgame will be as memorable as the previous games.

Nothing else like it, highly enjoyable vanilla gameplay, and even better modded.

Alright I need to stop being such a whiny baby and just say this probably the best game of the decade. Not having seamless co-op is a serious bummer but it's not enough to earn a negative review, in retrospect. As with any game I play, I seem to find things that should of been in my mind but to often don't appreciate what is.

No other game so masterfully intertwines gameplay and level design as this. Each location has been carefully hand crafted and realistically detailed. It's underappreciated work, and as soon as you're without it (i.e Rise) you suddenly gain massive appreciation for what was. Not to mention the music, fighting mechanics, relatively light focus on the main story, meta game, are all superb and could also be harped on for many more paragraphs, but just trust me when I say they're contenders for best in class.

I'd say this is one of those games that will survive for generations of gamers as one of those legendary titles. No game can entertain you forever unfortunately, but I do think this is one of those I'll be revisiting every couple years for a new playthrough. Worth every penny of $60.

This version of early access shows good ground work for making a very addicting and satisfying game. However, the current state of this game has some very game-losing bugs, as well as an amount of content that the metaphor, "a vast ocean that's only a foot deep", fits perfectly to.

The potential is there, and I sincerely hope they keep adding to the gameplay. Lot's of potential, but I wouldn't buy it unless it was on sale right now.

This is a great game. Hopefully you've been able to not spoil yourself watching other people play it, because it's a great experience learning how to surivive and thrive in this world. However, once you've learned that, you also learn the patterns of the world, and it become a lot less threatining. After having explored everything, you know what to expect in any given biome; there's not enough or maybe even any random encounters while you are exploring. Once you learn where the leviathan class creatures appear and how to deal with the aggresive fish, you really have nothing to fear. I only wish that there was less guarantee in the game, and way more dangerous fish. You get a plethora of small, passive fish to scan and appreciate, and only a couple of legitimately dangerous creatures.

But like I first said, it's really a great game, first playthrough is a very engaging and rewarding experience.

Tedious, overall easy but incredibly drawn out, and censored. Might be a patch for that, I dont know, don't care. Low variety, boring scenes, and god if there are more scenes im not farming 1000 more luxury melons to find them. Couldn't get a dog in heat to hump it; 0/10 absolutely flaccid.
