This game is awesome. The feeling of fighting all these enemies is second to none. You've got to try this game.

After some time, you'll run into this super pain in the ass problem - griefers. since its like an extraction game, you only get your items if you survive and extract with them. on death, they drop on your body. so guess what some people do. yep, TK right at the very end and take everyones samples. after 40mins or more of a game session, which for me as a father is rare to get at all, ive just lost a huge amount of resources. This compeltely destroys my will to play this seriously. Enjoy the game for its amazing things it does at every level. But the greifers literally destroy the game as a solo player. I cant just jump into another 40 min game, i don't get that amount of uninterrupted time. its probably one and done for the night and basically never making any progress with things that require samples. If they could find some serious fix to that it would be hard to beat this game. Every other system and mechanic is just chefs kiss of a game and its why you have got to try it and get into the role of a patriot in verse its good fun. but the very end of every mission it feels is greif fest and ruins the game completely. This will widdle down players every time until another game just stops this from happening.

Its also probably why when I hear "extraction shooter" or anything extraction, its a ♥♥♥♥ no from me bub. yall can waste your time with that ish im good.

The glory days are gone. The golden age has ended. While I think everyone should try Destiny at least once in their life to experience the absolutly prime gunplay, thats about it. Destiny 1 had the best raid experience by far - taken king. nothing has come close to that experience again. Destiny 2 never hit that high again imo. Gave it a solid shot, played with a team of friends for raids, dove into the systems it expanded on and it was soild. However, the desire to ever play again is just gone. I loved running around in patrols with no goal, just living in the world and shootin the patrols as fast as I could. I liked the world bosses enough, i love the world arenas that need a trigger, but I think thats from D1 and not D2. All my favorite things about this game are from D1. I do love the mod system from D2 I think that was a smart improvement. The companion app is a MUST have for raids, you can switch weapons in orbit and it saves so much time.

Why cant I recommend? The pacing is screwed, the story is incomprehensible. PVP, while can be fun, is also frustrating more than anything else. New player? Oh ♥♥♥♥ YOU. They might as well use that as the quote for anyone trying to start this game. Your thrown into the story near the end. You missed everything. They think this is a feature, even since D1. They really think this was a good idea. "You had to be there for that experience!" Ok... Well Not all of us were so we missed it? Ok i guess ill go play something else... Like what the hell is the logic with that. I cant convince anyone to try this game anymore and I genuinely tried to jump back in with a new friend who really wanted to jump in. I played a few hours and while we had some fun, I just feel like - whats the point? Raid with kids who troll or cant figure out the mechanics. While I don't mind the learning aspect, after a few hours of being stuck on the same boss, raids over. I got things to do, and frankly more fun games to play. This game was always screwed with its story and pacing since D1, the taken king was the glimmer of hope I had and was ADDICTED to it, one of the only games I was ritualistically playing and getting into. 3 chars max light all top tier weapons working towards hard mode raid weapons and min maxing them further. Just running around the dreadnought was awesome and the open world arena was hella fun.

The monetization is actually some of the worst of all the industry. You often need to rebuy the game again several times and get the seasons pass and the DLC - Oh btw all the DLC content is useless expect for the new one! But you can still play it! Full price pay up bub! like ♥♥♥♥ off bungie who the hell are you guys anymore. I know yall keep saying you made halo but its a ship of Theseus anymore. All those people are pretty much gone and its an embarrassing shell of a dear of the industry, much like the fall of blizzard. Oh wait I was thinking of D1s ♥♥♥♥ pricing and mixed it with D2s they just cant help themselves from ♥♥♥♥♥♥ monetization. Disgusting greed in a mediocre game at best nowadays. Its been surpassed by just about everything. I have no faith this company knows what to do with destiny. I actually think fan made mods would surpass anything they present at this point.

I have some great memories from the good ol days. Give it a try yourself since its free. The begining grind is quite fun for several hours. Once it goes to mid/late game it just falls off a cliff imo.

For what its worth, I really enjoyed this game and game idea. Im very sad its shut down even though I played very little lol. I think it suffered from the live service and multiplayer only style of game. These games need constant players and we are so spread thin by all the options its unrealistic to expect everyone to play this all the time and all their other games. If this had a pve system that alloweed for single player gameplay it has serious potential. Id love to see them adapt it to that. I wish the best for all the devs.

Better than overwatch. Has same issues as overwatch. Dont even bother with comp if you want to have fun. Best enjoyed casually and everyones kit is super fun to learn. some kits could be entire games themselves.

PvP is completely broken. I dont even know what is going on anymore, but the powercreep in this game is out of ocntrol to a new level ive neevr seen. somem jutsus just auto target, attack, and stunlock, seemingly forever. If that wasnt the case, then it was a hacker lol. Go play Shindo life in roblox for the actual best naruto experience. This is sad how this game turned out. If they could do marvel rivals but for naruto it would be a gold mine, but if its anything like this just dont. Its fun to do the missions, but PvP is the actual worst experience ive had in a long time. Its completely un-approachable.

Early Access Review
Outstanding! An instant classic in its own way. This game is at 0.5.1 right now and its already one of the best zombie games I've ever played. It scratches an itch nothing else has been able to yet. Theres a deep inventory system that is fun becuase it pairs with a looting system that is outrageous but FUN. Its just damn fun. I find myself roleplaying by accident. It gives you the tools, simple tools to roleplay and it works amazingly. In its current state, its a great time. Easy 40 hours and I see that only increasing. If you are a loot goblin, this is your game hands down. This is a fantastic co-op game too! While there are obvious things that are unfinished - Buildings with nothing to loot and unfurnished (Looks really odd), server stability is not there yet, reloading is unreliable oddly (Due to a deep gun customization system that makes up for it.), Items can disappear very easily and by accident. Vehicles are trash to drive and need players to rethink how to drive (Death is easy in cars by accident, cars get stuck extremely easily, building a mailbox under a wheel does help.). Inventory slots can become 'corrupted' and unusuable, sometimes happens on characters. Loss of world, loss of character. Its alpha, its expected so be aware. Knowing that, this game is just fun to jump in, loot some items, back to base, and store and set up your base. I love that I can build almost anything almost anywhere. it feels so good to have my base exactly as I want it within the games rules. I feel like i'm in a zombie apocalypse and were reinforcing the doors with chairs and tables trying to survive. I've been DYING for a barricader type game with zombies like this specially. There's a few but this lets you pick up that couch and barricade the door. its amazing. I bought it for like 4 people i thought it was so worth it to just try. The zombies don't attack your barricades yet, so its quite easy to cheese everything currently. but its just still fun to be in and play.

I look forward to new maps (Mall? Sewers? Airport? New Cities? The artstyle lends to insanely quick turn around for maps and new props.) and fleshed out systems basically already there. I think its a solo dev currently and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ have they done an amazing job so far. I am highly anticipating this games future!

I was hesitant to grab this after watching my usual youtuber reviews sort of dog on this game a bit. They overhated it. At the end of the day, after beating the game on easy, I do recommend it. But it just BARELY got that recommendation. The combat isn't that bad, but holy hell was it hard on easy mode. Each weapon has a moveset and a charge move so there is lots of variety and you can upgrade 99% of weapons to have an extra buff, like fire damage, orc damage, cold etc. Its a good start of a system. in fact, id say that about everything. Its a good base game, and I look forward to the second game. Id start it up again and give it another go trying to beat it faster.

Lets dig into each aspect and where things went right and wrong. its not so simple to just say, "This thing sucks!" theres nuance to why these things either work or don't and I geuninely hope to see more in this style of game and in LOTR.

PACING:
This was a big enough problem and I need to put first as its my biggest frustration with the game by far. This games pacing is weird to put it simply. Every single time I fought an enemy, my character had a voice line saying, "I need a better weapon!" I ALWAYS built the best weapon I could every time I had it available, and it was never good enough. What the hell am I supposed to do?? This is easy mode for gods sake and i'm still not doing the right thing? You'll constantly be questioning yourself, am I supposed to be here yet? Did I miss something? Am I strong enough for this area? Did I just cheese that last thing too quickly? Constantly, I never felt like I got a grasp on if I was in the right spot until I was so overpowered that I knew clearly I was beyond that area. This feeling never left me the entire 38 hour play through. While I had that issue, I had to turn down the difficultly due to the constant raids and sieges and just being lost on what to do and how to manage my time. I don't know how the hell anyone is supposed to play this first time with that diffuculty and enjoy their time. A new player less invested would dip very quickly. By the time I got to end game, I didnt get to build everything it starting to just end quickly. maybe cause i was on easy but the ending just sort of wrapped up real quickly and I still had more things to craft.

COMBAT:
Combat is fine. Theres enough here tactically that your toolbox or kit is enough to make it fun. It can be expanded on for sure, but its good enough. Certainly better than minecraft. The thing that really pisses me off and still does is the rune system. You can take a non masterwork weapon (Unique weapons) and put a buff on them using gems you find. You unlock runes you can use as you play the game. But, I thought the entire playthrough, it was from finding gems. once I had the gem, I could use the new rune. But after looking it up after i beat the game, it was from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ranger books spread randomly throughout the game. these little tiny books that require pages that I guess you need to travel with you the whole time (I neevr kept pages on me) so I saw the book, didnt care, and left and forgot about it. I was PISSED to learn this is how to get runes. im not sure if I missed something or if im just a dumbass and im willing to accept that, but it was not clear at all how to unlock runes. so 5 runes were missing the whole game for me. and I used that as a point for pacing mentally since nothing else except tiered armor and weapons made sense to judge the pacing. I thought ok I just need to find 5 more gems, but it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ books i needed to find. UGHH. this really pissed me off to learn and christ do I wish it was done a different way.

LOOTING:
This is pretty satisfying overall. you get enough loot in general, but theres a problem late game that really starts to frustrate me. Knowing where to get certain items. Its a ton of running around blindly back through all your areas hoping to find that thing you saw at some point. And youll need to fight enemies. Opsie, did you play the game and fight the boss of an area? Well YOUR A DUMBASS. You shoul dhave left them alive so they can raid you and give you tons of the loot you need! The system sucks and it felt like they didnt test this. Also, mines do not respawn their items. once youve mined out a wall, thats it. that resource is now gone forever. i understand why, but it was another point of frustration i kept running into when I needed to find tin or copper. they arent common and once they are gone its done. I dont like this setup. I know most games do this, but they also give you tons of those resources, here, its not unlimited area, the world is only so big and you can pretty easily explore it all by end game. minecraft I can go off in a direction and still find diamonds, even in anarchy servers. valheim same thing, less so but realistically. It was enough to get to end game, but do not build things all willy nilly with bronze and tin, they will dry up. that was frustrating to realize. and I think some rocks spawn that give like 1 ore, but i dont know as the game doesnt really explain these things at all.

CRAFTING:
Its acceptable. The tier system can be frustrating, as your not really given numbered stats, just tiers of items. tier 3 is obviously better than 2, so all that tier 2 armor is now pointless. While i'm not against that, I personally wish they made it more than just number bigger = better. At least the mining helmet gives you light and is lower tier. More like that would have been great. By end game like I said, I still had more to craft taht I didnt get to since I exceeded the tier too fast, I think? The pacing just screws any intuitive way I thought about this game.

BUILDING:
Building is pretty fun, its quite limited, but lets you overlap pretty generously, closer to valheim that palworld for instance. Theres even a fun boss fight puzzle that you need to build afterwards, but this idea doesnt make any sense, as I was able to cheese passed it without building and wasnt sure how I was even supposed to build, as the game had a blocking volume preventing me from building. Its very poorly done, poorly explained, and even now that I looked it up online, its stupid. They should have trained you first to build over a river using specific pieces they want you to use, then after the boss fight its clear what to do. It would have been a cool puzzle but It left frustration and annoyance as the feelings. thankfully i found a goofy ah way to jump around a corner and skip it completely so it didnt last too long for me, but I know most people probably had to look that ♥♥♥♥ up it was so unclear what to do. all answer felt like I was doing the wrong thing or cheating or cheesing the game somehow. Bad design imo for that post boss fight puzzle.

COOKING:
Probably one of the best things about the game is the cooking and how many dishes to cook there are. I love how there was about 3 tiers of cooked food that gave you boosts if you ate at certain times of the day. I liked this system and actually hope other games can learn from it.

FARMING:
Its not bad, its not clear either. Its confusing to do and the resources to even do it arent exactly easy to get. bat droppings, which only appear in certain areas, are necessary to even make a farm plot. so if you miss it early, by late game, it takes so long for stuff to grow you can completely miss this system, and honeslty it wouldn't matter, it could be cut and it would have made nearly no difference to me. Once I started using it I always had lembas bread and that was highly useful at that point.

Post game, i'm left disappointed that was it.

Wow! John wick x Matrix the game. Its so much fun to play once you get the mechanics down. I didnt get it at first and put it down for a few months. Decided randomly to try it out again. It clicked man. The gimmick? While doing stunts, your invincible! So simple yet it does carry the gameplay so far. Cons? I wish there was more stunts! You can frontflip and back flip in first person and it feels damn good while in slow motion. Seriously, so worth it to play and feel straight out of john wick or matrix. Melee combat is lacking but its not selling you on that. Would love to see a melee centric version of this game as its own thing. But this itself is amazing. Environments are lacking in their design compared to the overly detailed soldiers you fight. It doesn't feel like the art direction is cohesive in that way. Still, its so fun!! You gotta at least try it out.

Best open world game in my opinion. The world just FEELS good to be in. The beautiful sights, the cities, the utopian capitalist world, it feels amazing to just exist in without doing anything and that ♥♥♥♥ is hard to do. The problem - its UNPLAYABLE unless you use the fixes online - and thankfully they are pretty easy to get working.

Here is a thread for 1 possible fix: https://steamproxy.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3258473119

And then here is another site, this one fixed it for me: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Watch_Dogs_2#Nvidia_RTX_3000_and_4000_series_flickering_issues

You basically must do this to play the game or you will notice the incessant flickering and its too hard to focus. Once you get that working, your golden and play one of the best games ever!

I will warn, the story is pretty lame most of the time, it has cool moments and clever things that happen but the plot overall is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ goofy. "Hackers save the world! and were young almost teenagers! and we say all sorts of kooky things along the way! Guhunk!" Its not bad as borderlands 3 but skipping the story will be perfectly fine most of the time. I couldn't get invested but maybe you will. Sometimes it gets compelling and its usually when the other hackers aren't involved tbh. Otherwise though the gameplay alone carries it extremely far. Id rather play this than GTA5 anyday.
