The first thing you'll notice is that the music is pretty great. The ASCII graphics naturally mean a pretty limited overall look, but I didn't find them distracting. It's easy to tell what everything is supposed to be. The battles seem very varied, with tons of status effects available and such. I didn't play far yet, because I usually like to wait for the full release in games before I dive too deep in them. I simply took a quick glimpse, but I did have a good first impression though and I'm definitely going to observe how the game progresses from here.

I have to mention the music again...it's really, really great. I'm even listening to the main menu track as I'm writing this :D

Don't buy if you're on a Windows 7 machine. The game simply won't start, no matter what I try. Tried disabling DEP, tried running in XP SP2 mode...nothing. They really should add a notification to the store page, saying this will be ridiculously hard to get to run on modern machine. And to think this game was made in last gen...
