I've been trying to get into SaGa for like a decade and a half now, and they finally made one that puts the pieces in place so that it really clicks. I'll be surprised if anything else I play this year is this good. This is the kind of game you accidentally neglect your relationships over, or the kind of game that has you skipping meals. You'll just get absorbed in it. It's a testament to the strength of the genre.

But most importantly, I think it finally taught me how to approach these games.

there's a lot of junk to level up and keep track of and you need to keep on top of it because story progress is gated frequently by random objectives that usually require it all so it's a bit miserable to play. gacha rates also seem bad and there's a lot of predatory packages that cost money.

but the yuri is soooooooooooo good, so thumbs up
