Probably not a bad game, but this isn't Resident Evil.
I suppose they tried to copy RE4, the ambiance is great; besides the save room sound which is far away from those who were in the original RE games.
However, the fights are so bad. This is so confusing, looks really bad as a die-and-retry mode, atleast in Village of Shadows difficulty. The game is really scripted, having ghosts that can attack you at any time because they pass through the walls is a joke to me, and far from the original RE, again.
This is better than RE7 for sure, the universe around the village and castle is much more attractive so I'm very happy with it but it doesn't look like a Resident Evil for me. They should really making remakes of the original ones again & again, they're better at it.

Also this game is bugging a lot with the Steam Overlay (controls which are no more working) and the game is not optimized at all when you have Dimitrescu near you. FPS goes from 120 to 5, **lmao**.

I will continue this game anyway, since I'm a Resident Evil fan afterall and I'm maybe wrong by posting this review while I have not finished the game... We'll see!

The game is exactly the same than FIFA 20.
It is not really available on Steam, because it's internally using Origin in the background. If you want to play with your friends, even the invitation has to be done through Origin, therefore the only difference with it being on Steam is that you launch it on Steam.
Touching the Windows button during a pause will automatically consider you as leaving the match and therefore you lose.
The game is a mess to be compatible with a controller - I use a Steam Controller and sometimes when launching the game it considers I want to use the keyboard and just act as if my controller was not enabled. If you touch anything on the menu with your mouse it will deactivate the controller.

For the price it costs, it's a bit of shame. I had FIFA 20 and besides the fact it's the same product between both (the only difference is the menu color scheme), I really think they should improve their product for anything related to Steam, controllers, and global problems that date back to the previous decade.

This game is fun, though... atleast when you can play.

I honestly hesitated between recommending this game or not, because the game itself is great and is, in my opinion, not qualitatively below RE2 Remake! But eh, this game isn't huge and more looks like an additional content, a big DLC of RE2 Remake. I will list some pros & cons:
Pros:
  • The game is really narative, more than any other Resident Evil game. Sometimes you enter in the Jill's memories, you hear her speaking about her previous story, some RE1 tips. I think Capcom is exploring a new aspect of the RE series, and it works great. Narrative aspect, why not, it's a good idea they gave it a try!
  • RE engine is really beautiful. It was already impressive with RE2 Remake, and here we can see how incredible it is. Game is immersive!
  • Dodge system: as the original game, they added that feature. It is really complicated to use it properly, but it looks powerful and sometimes can save you from a lot of complications.
  • Carlos character: he is much more here than in the original game. You are always changing between both playable characters (Jill & Carlos), with different stuffs, their own inventories, and it's also a great idea! It can be linked to the narrative system: you see, at the same time, what they are doing and you play them. Good idea!

Cons:
  • Lifetime is a whole reason why you should not buy the game. I made the game in 5 hour 50 in Hardcore mode, while I made a lot of unnecessary paths because I wanted the map to be full of green, meaning I wanted to retrieve ALL the items possible. Plus, I had the objective not to finish the game using spray, only herbs would have been allowed. It made me spending like 30 more minutes for the final boss to succeed, and time was of course increasing. It means you can do the game in approximately 5 hour 00 if you don't give challenges like me.
  • About the lifetime, as a reference, RE2 Remake was approximately 8 hour for a campaign, but you have both Leon & Claire + the scenario system A/B so you can do the game 4 times. You also have the Hunk, Tofu + some modes they added. If I want to compare RE2 Remake with RE3 Remake, I would have said RE3 Remake is a damn shame and a waste of money.
  • I also don't like how Capcom is trying to justify their point of views, by solding RESIDENT EVIL RESISTANCE with RE3 Remake. This "another multiplayer game" is just not what people want. We don't care at all about your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mode and people don't care at all about it. They tried to use it as a justification to say "hey people our game is 6 hour long but we have another mod". Hey, when RE Resistance has been launched it reached approximately 3,000 people. I give approximately 6 months before you can't find anyone on Resistance, since it's useless.
  • They removed 1/3 of the original RE3 game. This part has been removed: Clock Tower, yeah what the ??. I mean, when the original RE3 was out people were complaining because it's too short as opposed to RE2, so we have the same argument.... However it looks like Capcom doesn't want to change how things are going because they are not putting any effort at all! Removing a part of the RE3 game, which was already a short game..... What are you doing guys??? 60€ really?
  • Nemesis is just a Mr. X IA with new attacks. I mean, it does the exact same thing than Mr. X except than he can teleport himself where he wants how he wants. He is impressive, I love Nemesis but not more than Mr X since you added almost nothing to him...
  • Removing some features: you are no more able to destroy body parts of your enemies. It's really breaking the immersive context of the game: when hitting them (except the head which can explode), you'll never see them with one less body part. They said it's because "there are much more enemies than before", and it's sometimes true (especially in the hospital with Carlos where it's an invasion) but it also looks like they don't want to optimize their games to make it possible.... Why the hell we need to disable features because more enemies? Take more time to do something properly, or learn how to code I don't know?

To be fair, I'm a huge player of Resident Evil since it's the best serie of my life, ever.
Nevertheless, I don't recommend you this game. Even if it was really a great game, lifetime is too bad and game is more a RE2 Remake DLC than anything else. Capcom just want to make more money, ride the wave of "qualitive remakes" but without taking more time to make a better game.

Selling a game 60€ while you already had the entire engine, the entire gameplay (except dodge system), the synopsis, the level design (because yeah a bit of the game is in the police station and you see the EXACT same assets than RE2 Remake, they just made a copy-pasta), is just Capcom making fun of us. Even the ingame-UI is the same, lmao.

Since I am very respectful toward Resident Evil, I had to put the game as non-recommended to force Capcom doing a bit more thing on their game. Game is great, but it's just because you did everything on RE2 Remake and you had to C/C them and say "wait it's the third". People were complaining 21 years ago, so now we're still here to complain about it.

Also, you know you lose your money because us, fans of the Resident Evil games, we immediatly buy games when it's about Resident Evil. So they are sure about how much money they'll make from us, and they can say "lifetime is bad" a few days before the game is out, we paid for it. Many things make me saying Capcom is dishonest.

It was lost since the beginning since that game is available only one year after the RE2 Remake. TAKE YOUR TIME CAPCOM!! Now I'm just hoping for a huge real RE CV Remake, which is my best Resident Evil game ever. And this time, I really hope we'll see how Capcom want to develop games, not to make money by the fan community.

I really enjoy this game. I had it by buying a lot of games from Square Enix in a pack, so I didn't know exactly what I had bought and I decided to download this game: from the reviews I saw things like "another Portal-game" so I was just forced to play it!
As you can see, I have a little more than 5 hours on this game and I entirely finished it (achievements included). So the game is a bit short; some people left a negative review due to the short lifetime but it will not be my case.

Yeah, this game looks like Portal. Yeah, it's "only" some puzzle rooms like Portal (with an history). But I like it, men. Puzzles use simple mechanics (with energy balls / energy boxes) and you can take control over a robot and also make some actions through the cameras. This game looks like Portal, so it just looks pretty good. I don't see why you should put a negative review below this game, only for the puzzle rooms and the intuitive and logic game it is.

Nevertheless, you should know that I made the game without the sound, only with my personal music which allows me to have a better concentration for puzzle rooms. I put subtitles but even if they were here, I didn't have the time to read them (it's like I tried to run the game because I wanted to see if I quickly understood the rooms and there is a lot of words we don't care about). Basically I heard / saw nothing about the history, and I don't regret it since I wanted to play this game only for the pure rooms. The Turing Test is the name took for the Alan Turing's test to see and use the AI of a computer next to a human and then judge if computer can look like a human in a vocal conversation. I will not explain this test but you should take a look at it, really. The only thing I can tell you is that the history looks (I have not seen much, lul) like the Turing Test, which clarly explains the name of this game. However I don't know if it's really interesting in the game...

To conclude, if you really enjoyed the Portal games: buy it. I entirely understand that $20 can mean a lot (so maybe wait for a discount), but the game uses interesting game mechanics (like Portal but with other few ideas which look really cool!) that you should see and understand by yourself.
If you don't like the Portal games (or you don't know what are these games but in this case get out of this page) or you think it is too expansive, then wait or don't buy it. I really consider that for those who like "mind 3D games", it's a good one tho!

I had bought this game few years ago when it was available on Xbox360. I wanted to make the game again on PC: I never did the DLC because I didn't have the definitive edition.
To begin, know that the Definitive Edition doesn't provide something new: maybe the game is a bit better in terms of graphism, but nothing has changed in terms of events and generally things to do. The definitive edition is only here because it gives you some clothes with incredible references (like Hitman!) and three DLC: Zodiac Tournament which is implemented inside the game, Nightmare in Northpoint and Year of the Snake.

As I told you before, I already made the game. Redoing it was a pleasure, really really. There is 30 missions and a lot of things to do around the big map. 30 missions is not much would have said someone who already played at a game like GTA:SA, but I promise that 30 missions are various, have suspense and twists in every of them. Also the secondary content is rich, for real you can begin by what you want and it offers a real experience. Sleeping Dogs is a Hong Kong openworld (say hello for driving on the left) with much contents, and especially what is its strength: the fights with hands. You have a lot of combo offered to hit, stun and break the bones of people you want.
Damn, I love this game. Maybe it's a bit of nostalagia but I bought it firstly in 2013 before GTA5 was available, and I did not expect anything from this game, so yeah it was a really good surprise.

If you like GTA(-like) games, don't hesitate to buy it. Honestly it worth the price.
The game also offers a lot of vehicles, with a way of driving them not so realistic but which is not a problem itself. Wei Shen, the protagonist, can drive and push vehicles which are at the left/right in the environment, he also can jump onto the vehicle in front of him even if you are driving at more than 60MPH. Yes, it's incredible, a real hero.

I will not spoil you the story of this game - because if you want to buy it you must discover it by yourself. I will not say the script is the best I have ever seen, but he remains interesting and we want to finish this game.

Gunfights are also included in the game. Take a pistol, a rifle, a shotgun, or what you want (approximately 12 weapons) and shoot people. With the parkour you can make, you can also enter in a slow mode where you can shoot your enemies. It adds more desire to break everything which passes through your way.

With the end of the game, we could say that a Sleeping Dogs 2 will come - unfortunately, Triad Wars, the false sequel of SD has been canceled. Why they tried to make a multiplayer game while the first game the developer/editor (because before Sleeping Dogs there was True Crime which was not edited by Square Enix) was singleplayer-only? I don't understand why they saw it that way, it's weird but here we go, Sleeping Dogs 2 will not come anymore and it's not a real problem.

However, let's speak a bit about DLCs:

  • Zodiac Turnament: It's a turnament where you must do some fights. Nothing much to say, just play it and you'll see how the island will be and how people will help (lul) you there. It's a content added in the game when you have finished some first missions.

  • Nightmare at Northpoint: Say welcome to zombie men and women. Wei Shen now should retrieve Pas Ping, a character of the main game stolen by Smiley Cat. You must do the missions and secondary contents, it looks interesting even if it was not my preferred DLC. This one takes approximately 2 hours to be finished (achievements included!). Everything is happening in Northpoint, which is the east part of the map you are on. Therefore it's strange, the game is really limited in terms of square, you are in a black universe with a lot of same missions/events. It's always good since it's included in this edition but it looks like developers didn't know how to exploit their own game after they made the main story.

  • Snake of the year: Our protagonist is no more a undercover cop as he was during the main story, now he will wear the cop uniform and help people around the entire map (except Northpoint). Your objective will be to help the cities through some crazy men who put bombs into some vehicles (you must quickly take & throw them in the sea) or handcuff some kids who are making fireworks explode in a sidewalk. You uphold the law. This is my favorite DLC, I can't tell you why it is because people generally have a preference with the Nightmare one, but it was really interesting for me to help people around my Hong Kong universe. However I will not hide you the fact that, again, we see that developers didn't know how to exploit their game: we have some new missions, and that's all.

Don't expect seeing new things in these DLC: they are a bit more pleasure, but they show the weariness of the developers who wanted to recycle the same mechanic of the main game (which is pretty good!).

Finally, the cons of the game could be:

  • No multiplayer: it means you have nothing related to multiplayer except the leaderboards to compare yourself and your friends (to see the time you drove without making any accident, the length of your jump with a motorcycle or car,...). It's always that, but it isn't interesting. Maybe make races multiplayer, also add fights at more than one player, etc. There is several things to make: it's just an idea tho, because the game should remain singleplayer, but we can't be against a multiplayer system.

  • Karaoke system this system is strange. You sing by pressing some simple keys. Right if you want, but there is clarly no point of going to a club/bar to sing if it's just that... Also the songs are clarly american, for a Hong-Kong universe it's really weird... What is Cyndi Lauper doing here?

  • Non-cloud system: I had a problem with my computer when I started the game. I made like 3-4hrs of game and I lose everything, like I changed my computer. I prayed for Steam Cloud, a really cool service where your saves are stored there. But Steam Cloud only works for games who want to use Steam Cloud, which mean that developers must active the Steam Cloud service on their game. And Sleeping Dogs is the game which doesn't use this service, so I lose my save. It's probably the only game (out of the 10 that I wanted) who doesn't use this service. I don't understand why Steam Cloud isn't here, Tomb Raider which is another game edited by Square Enix uses this system so what is the problem...

Else, I don't have any cons. They are only some things which pass through my mind, because it's really small compared to the game which is really incredible. Lifetime is also reasonable, I knew the game but I took my time and I had a save problem (as I said in the con before), so for the game + DLCs (and all achievements as I have!) you can count 35 hours.

Thanks United Front. Thanks Square Enix. Rest in peace Sleeping Dogs, you are a really cool game but you will take the dust in my Steam library now, I really know the game by heart lol.

Don't hesitate - buy this game! Do you seriously think I will create a so long review if it was a bad game? Love.

A game created by a ex-Valve man. Only this should mean "Try it". Basically you'll like it: it's a good Half-Life spin-off. The game entirely looks like 80s with the sounds (in the main menu, when some guards are shooting on you,...) and it looks good as f*ck. I have only 2 cons, totally understandable tho:
  • Lifetime: Approximately 1 hour. It's short but it remains a good experience. There is also an achievement system, always interesting, but the other con is...
  • The achievement system: Honestly it would be better if it was on the Steam Achievements system: by this way we would be able to show them, see them on our profiles,.... However, I know how Steam works and I don't think you can put some Steam achievements on a "game-mod"... seems be only possible on external games on the Store so unfortunately the developers can't do anything about that.
I want to give a special thanks to Cayle George because when you see this you think about... y'a know... the Half-Life series, the Source engine, anyway things which are at their peak few years ago... And always hoping everything will be like before in the future.

I honestly don't understand how you can put a negative review since it's a free mod. The mod works for god sake.
So yeah, I played Half-Life 2, HL2:EP1 & HL2:EP2 with my friend, it works like I wanted. It was really cool when we played it.
I gave $5.00USD at Synergy and I don't think the donor features are good to be honest. I only gave money because I don't care about $5 for the work the developers of the mod did but donor features are just like... A RGB detail and done? Anyway.

Else, some things can be better I think (but as I said, because the mod is free I don't care if the features are not here):
  • Make we can be passenger (on the vehicle or something like this) during the vehicle moments. Sometimes just a Buggy and a Van appear, then the second player chooses his vehicle but the vehicle doesn't have the same way of being driven as the main vehicle. Also, at the end of HL2:EP2, the vehicle where you can put some Magnusson bombs was blocked and we were forced to take a vehicle which, of course, doesn't have this ability. It's so good that when you take a non-official vehicle, a second player can be the passenger but it's not possible on the main vehicle (the vehicle where Alyx takes the place) and in the game we MUST take the main vehicle for taking Alyx, so why a passenger feature here ?
  • Some features on the original game are not available on Synergy. It includes the radar for the caches in EP2, or at the end the radar where you see the Strider poses... You'll not have these features in the mod. Maybe for a technical reason?
  • Physics changes: I don't know if it's normal since it can be due to the fact of converting the game into a multiplayer one, but the physic is strange, like if you take the Gravity Gun with a prop it acts weirdly.

Else, of course I love it. I am in love with Source games. Half-Life games are included and just thinking about the fact that we can play them in multiplayer make me cry. I wish the best for the developers of mods like those. Thanks.

Omfg, these games are really... huges. I can't get any words to tell you how this game is an unbelievable experience: you have to purchase it. You will have at least 200 hours of content if you want to do the 100% of FFX and FFX-2... Both are available for only $25, sometimes less. Damn, even if they are old games it deserves that money!
Personally, I bought it but I already had these games on PS2 (I finished them a few years old): I wanted to redo the experience.
Everybody will tell you that FFX is better than the FFX-2: they are right. FFX-2 is just the afterpart of FFX: it's so good to visit again almost every place, every character you saw when you did FFX but gameplay aspects like fighting which is no more based on a turn-by-turn, plus the pop music, also less feelings (you can't be Tidus/Auron/Wakka..)... So yeah, FFX-2 is good, but if you compare it with FFX, FFX is really better and can be considered as a masterpiece.

Pros:
  • [FFX] Impressive history, its very interesting, emotional and you'll get a lot of cutscenes for the story, with beautiful textures!
  • [FFX and FFX-2] Huge lifetime (mainly on FFX, you can have 200 hours if you want to finish everything). Story is less than 200 hours of course, maybe its 40 hours for FFX but you'll want to finish everything!
  • More options than the previous game on PS2: you are able to see the FFX Eternal Calm (video which was only available for Japan when PS2 game came out). Eternal Calm is a video which introduces FFX-2. You can also play FFX-2 Last Mission, which is a mini-game like a very very little FFX-3. Always better than nothing.
  • OST is really cool from the beginning to the end, it will put you in a good mood!
  • Generally, just the games, they are so good. I can't list all good things they have!!! There will be too much thing to say.

Cons:
  • 30 FPS-lock: seriously, first and main con. If you do things that require precision and you don't have some good computer specs, you must temporarily put the game on a lower resolution (800x600) and low texture qualities... It sucks. I did that to achieve the 200 lightnings, you know that mission....
  • Assistantship: the remaster game contains too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ features: you can disable the fights (normally you must farm and drop a weapon to avoid this), you can generate your overdrives or generate some gils (the money of the game, WTF?).. This can be made through the menu... by pressing a button! It's a pity to have these features on the games, normally it should be a bit long & difficult to do the 100%. It's over-cheated and should not be inside the games in my way of seeing Final Fantasy. But as always, we casualize games....
  • Patch: lmao the joke is that Square Enix said that for technical reasons, they can't put JAPAN voices with European subtitles (JAPAN voices only for some asian countries, & Europe/US must have the ENGLISH voice). Fortunately, a person has created a patch to unlock this (because yeah, it's a shame for SE, we all know that "technical reason" is a lie). With the patch you can play the game with Japan voices while having your European subtitles. Thanks to people who made that but it's a shame for SE: they don't put this in the original game and a modder was needed to have this.. lul.

Recommended: YES, damn you can't avoid to do this so good experience...

When you install the game, you think this is just 5-6 rooms with some easy-puzzles.
But NO, NO and NO !!!! This is a fu**ing NEW game !! Situated beetween the first and the second Portal, you are Mel and you live her history. The game has a decent lifetime for a Portal game.. Seriously, this game can be a new Portal created by Valve ! There are few more ideas : new Portal Gun, game entirely re-textured,...
Just this game can disturbing people who can't understand the english (anyway, there is subtitles in other languages). But fortunately Vergil (and other, no spoil ahah) speak slowly.
A really good game, and for free!
GO, GO, GO!
