The game's fairly fun if you enjoy technical and fast-paced melee combat with large teams, it's the best version of that right now. But the map variety is a little low, which isn't a huge deal. The main reason that I'm not recommending this game and requesting a refund is that the community can get really toxic quickly, and there's basically nothing in the game to address that. The only way to mute someone is to physically walk up to them and press K. good luck doing that if it's an enemy that's using derogatory slurs like they're punctuation. There's no report system, and you can't even interact with the score board. Honestly it's 2019, a reporting system and menu-based mute are the absolute minimum you should have in a multiplayer game.

Early Access Review
The first 10-20 hours were good, but once I hit the second teir of missions being at "fair" difficulty, they became a grindy mess. The differences in enemy health between levels was ridiculous. one level minsc could easily kill the monsters in one hit, the next, he'd barely chip down an imp's health by 10%. This is not a fair difficulty, this is frustrating. I don't mind some grind in idle games, but there doesn't seem to be a solid difficulty curve, just arbitrary monster health increases. they don't scratch my party, but I can't kill them. I left the game running overnight and came back to enough gold for 5 level-ups for minsc which translated to about 2% increased dps. This is nuts! If a difficulty is listed as fair, I should be able to actually complete it with my current favor, even if it takes a bit more time.

There seems to only be one effective strategy, which is to buff the crap out of one damage dealer until they're carrying your whole team. Loot boxes are fickle and mostly give gold which is not remotely what I want from them. There's no way to speed up the game, so you just have to wait while your team slowly plods along, or doesn't for seemingly no reason, and slowly attacks while you just sit there because click upgrades are literally worthless.

I Love the idea of the game, the art, and most of the mechanics, but the implementation is entirely frustrating. It seems intentionally so, to lure you into buying items with real money. I might have, if the goodwill I had wasn't chipped away by every mounting frustration.

tldr: I wouldn't reccommend the game at the moment due to bad grind and frustrations

Solid game, A definite improvement over the first one. A lot more missions than the first game, 3 sets of careers for each that feel different to play, and abilities that actually have an impact. Way more special enemies and bosses. it'll be a bit hard at first, but don't forget to block and push, these are your most important abilities for not dying, and don't forget your ability, it doesn't take long to charge up. Boss HP might be a bit high, and they could do with added complexity on them, but better than just rat ogres every time.

This is not a good game, especially for the $50 price tag (as of time of writing 1.5 years after game was released).

Pros:
- It tries to have the charm of the original series, but..
- Cartoon styled graphics is a good style for the series, but...

Cons:
- It fails to actually have the charm because there's so little here. The same "quirky/silly" phrase will be repeated 2000 times
- It looks like it came out 10 years ago, not 1.5
- Unit AI is worse than the original, which was okay in 2002
- It takes the original's depth, and reduces it in a way that looks half-assed rather than streamlined
- The game has a mechanic that reduces the housing size of the hovels based on how far away it is from your castle without telling you
- No tooltips other than names for a lot of things
- no range indicator on anything
- catapults won't move to attack ground outside of their range
- and more...

It's just not worth it, it feels like a bad rip-off rather than a true sequel, and more depressing than angering.
