Cannot recommend this game atm. It keeps crashing on me with a EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error after a couple minutes into the game.

Very good game with a steep learning curve.
Very unforgiving for newer players or players with limited extraction shooter experience.

That being said, the game can give you some very engaging/intense moments where you have to juggle the collapsing dungeon, monsters and the threat of hostile players in your back.
The diversity of situations that you can encounter is second to none.

With this many systems and the devs having to balance for any possible matchup and party composition you will naturally encounter situations that are near impossible for you or your party to overcome. These encounters will feel UNFAIR to you because they ARE.

An archer beating a full plate fighter in a direct facecheck will generally not happen.
Chasing after a druid in rat form as a full plate fighter might take a toll on your sanity as well.
The more experience you get in the dungeon the more encounters you will be able to handle in your favor and that includes sometimes running for your life.

There is nothing sweeter than beating the odds and getting out with your loot.

Better than the Starship Trooper sequels.

I bought this game 4 years after it was released originally.

Developers and Community are still active.
Graphics are still holding up.
Gameplay still feels fresh and unique (for a shooter).

They somehow made the gameplay loop motivating, even if your team loses 10 hunters in a row.
The community is somehow non toxic and helpful, even if I am the reason for those losses.

You should give this game a chance, especially if all modern shooters (right now) feel the same to you.

Still not a Fallout game. The mmo part destroys the core gameplay mechanics of a fallout game. If you still want to play this, here is some advice if you want some resemblance of a fallout experience:
-play it strictly solo, if you run into another player, cool but don't join the people that are grinding for materials.
-Don't quicktravel to the public missions, try to explore on your own.
-You level up fast in this game, try to do your quests only, otherwise you will be meeting lvl 40-50 enemies in early story missions and get a peashooter as a reward.

Here some situations that you will probably run into:
Found a grenade or rocket launcher?
The next Raider takes direkt hit to the head with the rocket, loses 1/3 of his life and isn't even crippled. Takes 3 direkt rockets to the eyeball to die.
Turns out that raider is a couple levels over your weapons level. Love it.

The base that you built overlaps with another players? Now it can not spawn in. Cool, lets change the server and hope that doesn't happen again or build it again somewhere else because, you know, the player has time for that.

That enemy, you just killed, respawned in the same place while you are looking at it. Also he now lags more than before and teleports every 2 seconds.

Also more bugs...

Honestly if you value your time, avoid this game....

Fun campaign with friends but gets repetitive very quickly.
Loot System is mostly pointless sidegrades.
Questionable DLC policy.
Buy it on sale if you want to buy.
