Me:-
I`m old. -Really ancient. I`m cantankerous, grumpy and cynical, ...most of the time, but I do have the odd moments of empathy & good humour.. I`m jaded, but there IS a half decent human under the patina, I think.., Well, I hope.., just don`t judge me too harshly.

Interests:-
Electronic music maker using DAWs & IOS synths & midi controllers, also a DJ using Numark Equipment & Serato DJ, sometimes Traktor/Ableton Live.
Hardware inludes a Deepmind 12, a Microfreak, a Hydrasynth and an NTS-1.
I make Cinematic, Soundscape, and Ambient Music.

Games:
I prefer Simulation games, I use Microsoft FS2020, FSX, X-Plane, Aerofly and other flight sims. I also like City Building Games, Strategy, Puzzle, and Sandbox type games.

I own and run several PC`s with various operating systems and hardware, my other machines are used for media storage and music production. All my machines with the exception of one OEM PC were built by me out of surplus parts, I`ve built and used PC`s since the days of TRS80`s, Atari 400/800/1200/ST`s, Sinclairs and Basic so know my way around a computer reasonably well, and I`m handy with a soldering iron.(I was a comms / electronic engineer for 30+ yrs). I`ve amassed a ♥♥♥♥ ton of games over the years, on steam, GOG, Uplay, Origin, Epic, Arc, DRM Free and DVD. Most of my games are bought at sale price or in bundles. (Humblebundle, Fanatical and indiegala are my hunting grounds).

I`m a habitual buyer of Flight Simulators, I`ve tried almost all of them at one time or another, DCS, FSX, X-plane, Aerofly, IL2, P3D and I still can`t help myself when a new one comes along. I`ve also recently dived head-first into the world of Virtual Reality, having purchased my first Headset, (an Oculus Rift).
Right now its an exciting time in the Flight Simming World because when you add the two things together, virtual reality and Flight Simulation, (especially now that hardware is affordable enough to give you a really fluid performance), it brings a quantum leap in immersion. The kind of experience you can have now, with just a half-decent PC and GPU, and one of the many appearing VR headsets would have cost you an arm and a leg in the past, and would have necessitated projectors, full homemade cockpits, instrument panels, and a seriously beefy rig..
When you Fly with VR, you`re really IN the aircraft and immersed in the whole world.

I knew of Flyinside some months ago when I bought one of their add-ons for using FSX within my brand spanking new VR kit, I was impressed by the quality and stability of the plug in, so did not hesitate to buy the full simulator when I became aware of it. The one thing that stands out about this sim for me personally, is that its reliably fluid, and glitch free in its performance.
They have really built a stable engine, and although its at an early stage in its evolution, that to me is the most important factor in making the whole flight experience believable. The flight envelope is pretty good. Scenery is a little basic at the moment but that seems to be a priority on their roadmap & its already looking a lot better just with the december update, so I`m confident its going to keep on improving.
I was delighted to learn that Flyinside were offering steam keys for existing purchasers of the sim, (the standalone version so thanks Flyinside peeps ;)
I received mine today so lost no time in activating it.

BTW, the price is very reasonable at the moment but will increase as the functionality and quality increases. So worth considering as an investment.

Definitely recommended at this point.

Edit:- btw, If my hours seem low, its because I spend most of my playing time in the standalone version.
