Disappointed, but hopeful for improvements in the near future..

As a huge fan of Planet Games, with over 2000 hours in Planet Coaster and more than 3000 hours in Planet Zoo, I was pretty excited to dive into Planet Coaster 2. Unfortunately, after my first few attempts at creating a park, I’m feeling quite frustrated.

The game has a lot of potential, but I found myself struggling with several aspects that made the experience less enjoyable. For example, trying to create a simple pond with a perfectly smooth path around it became a test of patience. The difficulty in making smooth edges on paths and the lack of height indicators for paths in general made it really hard to achieve the look I wanted. Also, getting out of some menus taking multiple clicks is so frustrating and really screams "console" to me, even though I can only imagine that this amount of clicking is equally frustrating for console players.

My second attempt at creating a park was equally frustrating when I tried to build a simple lazy river with a pool. I couldn’t change the color of the pool—like the walls and flooring—and had to recolor each rock around the pool one by one. For some reason, the game doesn’t save your most recently used colors. On top of that, the lack of multi-select functionality to easily recolor several rocks at once is just not in the game.

Planet Coaster 2 feels like such a step back in many ways, especially compared to the improvements seen over the years in Planet Zoo. I really appreciate the effort put into both a console and PC version at the same time so it can reach more players right away, but it really feels like the PC experience was compromised in the process, with decisions that don’t seem well thought out for PC players and, in general, Planet Games fans. At times, it all feels pretty user-unfriendly. I guess I was really expecting more from this sequel after two amazing Planet Game titles. I simply can’t wrap my head around why so many features and options that work great in the other Planet Games are now missing in this game, leaving many fans frustrated by all these little things that could have been easily avoided before launch.

I know Frontier is working hard to address community feedback, and I’m hopeful that many of these issues will be resolved in the coming months. Still, it’s hard to understand why the game wasn’t playtested more thoroughly (on PC) before release to ensure players wouldn’t experience these frustrating issues in the first place.

For now, I’m going to jump back into Planet Zoo until enough changes are made to Planet Coaster 2 for me to try it again and hopefully enjoy it more, rather than being frustrated by all these little things.

I am so confused about this game. It's either super bugged or I am just blind and dumb not knowing what to do. Sat on my bike during the tutorial and just got stuck on the middle of the road. I had to save the animals from a burning barn, and my horse just kept being stuck inside of the barn nomatter what I tried. It just didn't came out of the barn while following me. Then I had to fix my barn and constantly wasn't able to get the hammer in my hand which was in my backpack and assigned to number 1 in my hand. The hammer didn't appear when pressing 1 or pressing anything else. At some point I was able to put the hammer from my backpack on a wall and then after that was able to pick it up to equip it and use it. Had to repeat this over and over again when I wasn't able to just right away get the hammer in my hand straight from my backpack. After 50 minutes of frustrations I gave up. I was very hopeful and excited to jump into this game, but leave very dissapointed of all these bugs.

I actually can't believe that I never wrote a review for Planet Zoo before. When you are reading this, you are probably new to Planet Zoo and wondering if you should get it or not. Well, let me introduce myself to you then:

My name is DeLadysigner and you can find me on YouTube for plenty of Planet Zoo videos (sandbox builds and let's plays) and also tutorials to get yourself familiar with the game, which I highly recommend watching if you are new to the Planet games.

I've been playing the game since day one and I can't believe how much the game has improved since then and how many amazing new features are added during that time. This game is fun for everyone! Whether you just like to enjoy the cute, beautiful animals and their interactions with each other and managing your zoo, but are not such a great builder; you can download amazing blueprints from the Steam workshop to still build the zoo of your dreams without too much effort.

But clearly, when you do like to build a zoo completely from scratch all by yourself, you can really eat your heart out! In the beginning, you may really need some tutorials to figure out all the amazing possibilities you have in Planet Zoo, but once you get a hang of it, you are absolutely going to love the freedom and endless possibilities in this game! Not to mention the fact how often you will just stand still and enjoy the incredible, beautiful animals roaming or swimming around, playing and interacting with each other in the beautiful habitats you create for them!

Do I sound like a walking ad here? Yeah, pretty cringy maybe? But honestly, it's all just so true and it really comes from the bottom of my heart! I have never stopped playing the game since I got it in 2019 and I can't believe how addicted I still am to this incredible game until this day!

I mostly played sandbox mode the past few years, but a few months ago I picked up franchise mode again, which made me even more addicted and in love with the game than ever before! Something I really did not think would happen after playing this game for such a long time already!

I am pretty sure, old or young, creative or not; you will love this game for sure!

I would definitely recommened this game. It's really super fun, chill and relaxing to create aquariums in this game and I just love to watch the fish in my aqaurium and how they behave. It all feels super realistic and super natural. Definitely a fun game for people that just like creative games but also for people that have a passion and interest in fish and aquascaping.

I myself know nothing about aqauriums and fish, but really am enjoying this game so far!

Was looking forward to this one, but I got stuck in the tutorial when training a second scientist and the need to interrogate someone (who, I never found out). Tried to look everywhere how I could continue and finish these tasks, but just no success unfortunatly.

It's probably an issue on my end or me missing out on buttons I have to click extra in order to proceed? But it's unfortunate getting so stuck like this that you just have to close the game and can't continue playing and also not being able to find any information online.

I think the game looks amazing and so far looks very promissing! But yeah.. for now I don't recommened it because of above reasons, because I don't know how many other people are having this same issue when getting the game?

Again A lovely and awesome DLC for Planet Coaster! Yes, I get it that some people might be a bit dissapointed about the amount of new items. Keep in mind that since BETA we never got new shops in any DLC. So getting new shops in this new DLC just takes alot of space, so yes, there is less space for other new scenery items and building items. That being sad, the stuff in this DLC is really beautiful and really well made. I really like the new country themed building themes alot! And the new shops just make me super hungry, haha!

So yes, I really recommened this pack if people want more variety with shops and new building sets based of different countries architecture!

Alot of fun to play so far! I think this game can be best compared with a game like Zoo Tycoon 2 back in the days. Really nice game to play and super cute graphics and dinosaurs ! Cant wait to see what this game has to offer more in the future :)

Was pretty excited for this game. But it has alot of bugs in it which are really annoying.
Would advise people to wait with buying this game until they've fixed the majority of the bugs.

Game could be alot of fun when bugs are fixed tho!
