I paid good money for this box!
Not interested in selling my account or items.
I do not trade with anyone, unless I am friends with them and I know them well.
Antisocial. I will not randomly add you unless I have a valid reason, or if we have played together and it was nice playing against/with.
Unaffiliated with 'migiTF2'. I had the name dog a whiiile before they did.

Praise The Code - Survive The Distance - Never Drive Alone

Overall, just a really big & fat snow leopard lady doing whatever she does best.
Noticeably average TF2 player. I play medic and pyro a lot.
Distance speedrunner. Rank 35 global.
I haven't changed my Steam PFP from this for over 10 years. I think i'll keep it that way.

i'm actually surprised nobody plays this game, this is an amazing throwback to Wipeout and Rollcage yet nobody talks about it

The Gameplay

honestly, the gameplay is a breath of fresh air compared to all the other games on the market. you have your simracers like iRacing and Dirt Rally 2.0, and you also have arcade racers like Need For Speed, and Forza. instead of "get to the finish" or "complete x laps", it's moreso "complete x laps, plus you also have guns and so do your opponents".

not to mention, the level and car design; i find it AMAZING that the cars are all designed to drive perfectly fine on both sides (even the branded ones like the MG or the DMC 2050!), it's such a cool mechanic and GRIP wears that on its' sleeves. all of the levels are designed to emphasise on this; you may be driving the right way up one second, then you'll be upside down the next second.

The Soundtrack

in addition, the game has a killer soundtrack; nothing in-the-era, just pure "you're going 500 mph" tunes. with artists like Full Kontakt, Whiney, Shivaxi, Urbandawn and S.P.Y, the soundtrack is a masterpiece, alongside the game - sure, you may have never heard of any of these artists before, but... trust me. listen to Imperium - Cerbera or Clock Watch - Full Kontakt.

VR Mode

i still find it insane that GRIP has a VR mode. for a game centered around going ludicrously fast, you'd think a VR mode would make you motion sick; and honestly, it kinda does. even for me, i've got my VR legs and i don't get motion sick easily. but, getting flung around from surface to surface, dodging missiles and gunfire, yeah... it's gotten me motion sick a few times.

as of recent, VR mode has been unable to launch for me, just giving me a fatal error, so i guess it was fun while it lasted.

The Downsides

honestly, the only downside is the lack of players. GRIP is such an amazing and fleshed out game, but it seems nobody actually plays it, or owns it... the multiplayer's nice whenever you can actually find a game, even if it's just one other player.

Verdict

overall, GRIP is an amazing game and deserves to be talked about. it's sad that nobody actually does though.

SHOULD I PURCHASE?: ideally, wait for a sale
