### The Spetsnaz are considered the elite of the elite of the Russian Military. Spetsnaz is nothing more than a term describing the special forces units under the Federal Security Service, the Internal Troops of the Russian Ministry of Special Affairs, and the units controlled by military intelligence. Their main purpose in wartime was infiltration/insertions behind enemy lines before hostilities and then later for the purpose of sabotaging the enemy.
