I saw a review calling this game 'Woke', I guess some people arnt comfortable with the idea that Nazis and the KKK should rightfully be labeled 'The bad guys'.
I also saw a review criticizing the game as too short with no boss battles like the old blood and the new order. Those two games had awful boss fights...Good games, bad boss fights. That shouldn't be a criticism. This game is also just as long if not longer than the new order (I'm on my second play-through of the entire rebooted series so the lengths are pretty fresh in my head).
I honestly think this game is drastically better than the new order and slightly better than the old blood. The new order had a great story but the gameplay way incredibly punishing...almost to an unfair degree. They would throw enemies at you in constant waves and it just would make several sections no fun (the bridge being one major example). It would prevent stealth from working effectively too. The old blood improved on that and this game improved on it even further.
Stealth actually works. Weapon upgrades actually feel like they are effective. The new engine improves the look, movement, and the shooting. All around this is the best of the main line wolfenstein games.

The games not bad, I just cant get into it. It feels like the epitome of a mindless shooter. The shooting is really good and its not difficult to pick up, but theres no story, nothing to follow. The color scheme also is awful. Its like if an emo edge lord made a game...Throw satanic imagery in, make it dark, and have metal music in the background, Who cares about why youre doing what youre doing? I like Shooters, I like the composer, I even am fond of the engine...Its just, none of it was implemented with any thought in mind here. its really dumb down. Go here and shoot things...I wish there was a story, and a better color palate (one involving more than just dark red and urine yellow). I feel like Wolfenstein just did everything better with nearly the same ingredients.
Played about four hours, on the first available hard difficulty (not nightmare since that requires an unlock).

The games good, you're just being mean. The lead protagonists are teenage girls and act as such. The banter between the two sisters is realistic and at times repetitive but enjoyable for the most part. The level design is top notch with two exceptions (the catacombs tends to all look the same...which while realistic, leads to getting lost while trying to get to where you're going. And the beginning/end of brother two. Trying to find the exit while its not clearly marked is frustrating). Besides those two exceptions everything is what you'd come toe expect from Arkane studios. The eighties theme does'nt come through as much as I personally would like, but when it does its stellar. The Music cassettes you can find are both accurate to the time period and really catchy. The gun play is also what you'd come to expect from Machine games/wolfenstein. The enemies feel more bullet spongy but that can be chalked up to the fact that this is a co op game. While its co op by design, it can be played solo (which I did). The friendly AI is actually pretty useful. I can count on one hand where they werent there to revive or assist me, and I played for almost forty hours, so thats not bad. The stealth isnt what you would get from dishonored, but its not awful. It falls in the middle. It is possible to stealth through most missions, but you will need to practice, have enough supplies, and enough upgrades. A map in the pause menu would have greatly helped the stealth routing.
While the story does get lost at times while you are off doing random missions to farm for coins/xp I did enjoy how it wrapped up.
Id give this game a B+.

This game is really fun. The cons I have are minimal, I see areas in abandoned buildings that look very accessable but are blocked off by invisible boundary walls, dialogue only plays for major story parts (for side quests and minor things it's all reading reading reading), combat and controls seem easy enough to pick up but upon viewing other play throughs I saw that there are a whole set of movement based attacks that I was never shown and would basically have gone undiscovered if it weren't for me looking outside the game.
But the pros out weigh those by a lot. Art style is incredible, combat is really fun, so many options for building your character makes it feel really tired to your play style.
Basically I'd recommend the game..
