This is a fantastic addition to the Lego series, and the little extras that go into this make it a clear step up from previous games.

+ Cover System, combat is a little less monotonous
+ New voicework from original actors (including a LOT from Rey/Finn/Solo)
+ Flying completely revamped, no more flying around an arcadey sphere like in Batman 3
+ BB8
+ Additional story around the film in bonus levels (rescuing Ackbar, getting the data stick to Jakku, etc)

- Feels a little shorter than some Lego games, I've 100% completed it (excluding any post-launch DLC yet to come) in 29 hours.

A fantastic single player reboot, well worth playing especially if you enjoyed the originals. The focus on multiplayer now is a little unfortunate (the multiplayer is a little bland) but the story mode more than makes up for it

A huge game with the different playthroughs all weaved together very cleverly to extend gameplay.

There's a clear shift of weight from levels with a little world to a world that's guided with some levels - some of the levels are incredibly short (at least in story mode) but all unlock a notable amount of content in the open world.

Personally I was a little disappointed by Lego Lord of the Rings - I found the humour a little out of place, and the general tone felt a little off. Lego The Hobbit has no such problems, and benefits from the films' lighter atmospheres.

The addition of mining elements certainly increases the potential complexity and length of the game, and if nothing else adds another excuse to bash apart everything you find.
