Early Access Review
Typical early access game. I'm enjoying the slow pace of building and exploring. Go to their website and read their about page if you're on the fence about purchasing this game in early access. This is a social sandbox MMO, so it will feel very empty compared to any other MMO. This game has the potential to become something great and I'm willing to share some money to see if it can reach it.

I would advise on not purchasing this game as it's being abandoned, but they have been nice enough to take it off the store. Another game with potential that withers away due to an unclear vision and lack of support over the years.

I'm writing this review to try to counteract some people saying they're experiencing issues. I was kind of wary purchasing the game since I saw Mixed reviews, but I haven't had a single issue in the first 3 hours of gameplay. I'm running it at whatever it automatically set for a i7-8086k and RTX 2080 (I think it's all high/ultra). I'm running the game at 1440p getting around 70-90 FPS, no stuttering, crashing, glitches thus far. Looks and runs smoother than it did on my PS4 Pro. Loving the game so far!

Absolutely love this game. It's unlike anything else I've played so far. I've been playing since the beginning and it's been rough, but the overall development of the game from when they first introduced it over a year ago to what it is now is amazing. So much content for so little money...

I don't understand why people review this game so negatively based on the developer. Sure the game has been in alpha for a little over a year, but all the content (up until the most recent expansion) has been free! The game still functions and looks better than quite a few other alpha survival games I know of. There are loads of dinosaurs you can tame, mods to make the game more immersive, and now several different maps you can choose from. Graphics are gorgeous, albeit you need more than a 980Ti to run it at its maximum settings (playable). Networking side is decent, ping can be bad based on server hardware/performance, so choose your server accordingly! But when it comes down to all that you can do with that $20 game called Ark, it's highly under appreciated.

Appreciate the free content the devs put out! With games now-a-days charging micropayments for in-game content, I'm glad to see Ark has been putting out new content and functionalities for free! The new DLC is a completely new game (new environment, dinos, survival tactics, etc...) and worth the additional $20 if you want a change in game style. Regardless, the amount of content you get for $20 is amazing. As long as they keep coming out with more functionalities and content for free, I'll keep playing.

P.S. Finished games have bugs too ;)
