What begins as a huge step up (especially from its dearest, outdated and frustratingly grindy brother, Duel Links) as a valid online Yu-Gi-Oh, ends prematurely as soon as you realise that nothing outside of events is anything but frustrating, bad and bland.
Best of one format dominated by the most repetitive decks you might ever think of, which usually translates to: "whatever came up next in the actual TCG that was good will be playable, most likely at full power, so that you all can relieve the fun times of months of the same plate of soup you had months prior".
Baffling banlists that either don't make any sense whatsoever, are so small and tiny that make you question what even is the point in announcing updates to hit something like three cards and two of them are going to be semi-d (which is ultimately irrelevant) and frequent enough to remind you just how badly the game is handled from the perspective of its playability.
Massively broken cards that should have not been allowed since release and are still at three, untouched and ignored, alongside the many outcries of the community. (yes, we're still complaining about the bug, if you think it's not a problem you're insane and delusional)
The game experience overall is atrocious and you will quickly realise it boils down to:

- a very, VERY beginner unfriendly environment;
- immense tryharding (there's no reason to play unrated, you don't even get gems for further improvements doing so);
- uselessly waiting until the next format comes around and cope Konami will do anything reasonable to fix its format;
- a very broken system that just doesn't work in its intended setting to begin with.

Crafting your own decks without having to pull cards from packs is great.
Animations are cool, albeit improvable.
Solo mode is cool, but at times astoundingly lackluster.
UI is (for the most part) very intuitive.

Everything else is and has always been a problem since the game's inception.
