Kingdom Hearts has been my favorite game series for as long as I can remember. The game series has had a formative impact on me since I first played it on DS at age fourteen. A PC port on a reliable storefront has been something I've been waiting for for as long as I can remember.

And now it's finally here, all these years later. I could review the games based on the quality of port, but there are other people doing that. I'm here to review it as the games themselves. As for whether you, the new player on Steam, should buy KH1.5 and 2.5.

And I love them, the characters are endearing and for all it's twists and turns, the plot is so exciting to really dive into. Whether you stick to just the main titles or really get into the mobile game, the story's a wonder to really bite into. It's a fun fusion of anime and Disney with a bunch of the tropes from both that we all know and love. It's not afraid to let the characters or stories feel, and in doing so it's absolutely wonderful from start to finish. It's cheesy, and charming because of all of that.

The gameplay itself is also fun. While at times in certain games, the combat can feel a bit dated or some of the worlds are a bit "Oh god why am I here", they're still incredibly strong and fun to play from start to finish, and the feeling when you beat some of the more challenging bosses of the game is second to none. The post game content and bosses are super rewarding as you learn them, and full of fun gimmicks and challenges to figure out.

And the music is amazing. Shimomura is probably one of the best video game composers of all time and the music of this game absolutely delivers in its own right. And Utada Hikaru's themes are just as good.

These games mean the world to me, and I'm so much looking forward to revisiting these games to play them once more.

Normally I don't review until I'm done with a game. Baldur's Gate has become the exception to that rule. 18 hours in and I already know I will accumulate 100s more. This game has altered my brain chemistry in a way that can't be fixed, and I'm obsessed.

Story and characters are wonderful, the dnd turned based combat translates incredibly well to the gameplay style of a turn based rpg in a video game making for a fun experience, and I've been having an absolute blast. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Having actually finished the game, here's the final thoughts:

The game is highly addicting based on the gameplay alone. If you're a fan of turn based rpgs and love dnd you will like this game. The game translates dnd very well to a video game stand point and serves as a fun dm. There isn't really anything you can't do, although you should be aware of all the consequences that entails.

On top of that the game has high replayability. Just on a basic note of origins + Tav there are sixteen base different endings (good and evil for each character) and with the addition of different romance options and dialogue choices unlocked with each class and race you play as Tav, it would take almost 100 playthroughs easily to have a chance to see it all.

Moving onto the story, while the story itself never strays from its simple roots (you, the player, are trying to be cured from the mind flayer tadpole in your brain, and this stays the plot from beginning to end) there's a lot of interesting things going on both in the background and with your party, with each of the origin characters having incredibly heartfelt story arcs. Astarion has become a new favorite character in my top ten of all time and Karlach can join the list of characters to make me cry.

The soundtrack is also good. My spotify wrapped for 2024 is gonna be a mess just based on my December music habits lol.

Anyways, f you're looking for a fun game with a strong story and lovable characters, I highly recommend you give this one a try. It absolutely will be worth your while.

(And if all else fails, just remember, you can always get a laugh out of the fact that you can ♥♥♥♥ a bear and a mind flayer.)

I loved the game on 3DS and decided I really wanted to play the full game now that I have a gaming PC. It's a lot of fun, definitely a great Sonic game, but I've had it crash a couple times already and that's a pretty bitter disappointment. Probably try to get it on a console instead of PC, I know I'm going to try to find a used copy on a home console now for sure rather than risk constant crashes on computer.

I played the game three years ago just after graduating college and it hit me hard then.

I revisited the game tonight on youtube since I already beat it to rewatch the final parts of the game.

I literally did not stop crying.

This game is the kind of game to take your emotions and destroy you with them but in a way that leaves you satisfied with some of the best writing I've seen in a video game. The conversations with most of the context stupidly distant in my mind and only my vague memories of the story made me sob.

It's just really good. I don't think I could recommend it enough.
