i always end up playing this game longer than i expect to. awesome concept and incredibly visually engaging; it's like putting a brand new puzzle together. i'm still working on filling up a screen with tiles, the skill ceiling is really high and fun to work towards

enjoy the cute and cozy art style while you are helplessly murdered over and over again by the local wildlife.

this is not a game you can win by accident.

a slew of beautifully remastered returning characters and an airtight story pepper the meat-and-potatoes of this perfect sequel: it's more of the same, and then some. after 100 hours and a recently released rollback netcode, i have yet to find something about this game that spelunky 1 did "better." the ride never ends. it's a rube goldberg machine tailored to your constant demise, leagues beyond its predecessor, and that's saying something.
