Look, its not Medieval III, or Victoria Total War, but so far, I'm enjoying what I see. I wont rant on the bad, because that's already been done over, and over. I've wanted a Bronze age total war since Rome 1, and this may be it...However, not if we chase the studio away, and they abandon it like Thrones of Britannia, and Three kingdoms. Lets just play it, and cross our fingers for now, and maybe we'll get a banger when its all said and done. Y'all have to admit, Workshop support day one was an awesome feature. Y'all better not negative review me out of getting Mesopotamian, Israel, and proto-Greek cultures in may game.

A thoroughly enjoyable total war experience. Forget that you remember all the things Rome II missed at launch, try to pretend there wasn’t over 18 patches and numerous DLC before Rome II even came close to the original’s playability. With all that behind you, Rise of the Republic delivers a very rewarding playthrough. With your old favorites back, and some new factions to finish off the rosters, you will have ample variety in either squashing the upstart Romans, or marching forth to squash the plebs all in the name of the Senate and the People of Rome.

People, GET EDUCATED!!!! ever heard of the ESRB? No? Maybe go learn something. Knowledge is free, ignorance is a choice. I absolutely recommend the Blood DLC, it is even better than the two previous iterations. This DLC is interactive and fun to watch, especially if you are a fan of the vampire factions. If you want gore animations and zombie/skeletons fighting while missing parts, then get this DLC. If you just want to whine about a company allowing younger audiences to be able to play their games, then go then go somewhere else.

If you don’t like lengthy post, then skip to end of paragraph.

Ok, so the first thing I will state, is that I prefer the Lord of the Rings genre more. I also liked my total war games being historically based. That said, this game has been extremely refreshing. I liken it to playing Age of Mythology for the first time after only playing the copy and paste originals (I and II). Every race is completely unique, with a completely different play style. I have played every single Total War game ever put out, including the RPG Spartan. This Total War is by far the most unique game CA has ever made. Now I could get on hear and rant on simple AI, sad Sieges, or complete lack of ships. However, these are simple; AI, mod economy and fight all out war, sad sieges, understand this game caters to the table top and as such is arcadey, no ships, I can only assume they will arrive with the ship building High Elves. Well, that only leaves the elephant in the room, the DLC. The only question I have about DLC, is when is the next one coming out, because I have $18.99 and my Vampire hordes are hungry. There is now problem with DLC “whoring”, are you kidding me? Rome actually sold access to factions already in the game, or copy past ones…looking at you Athens/Syracuse. What we have in these comments is the same type of complaining which permeates our society today. An entire generation of entitled children wanting handouts. GET A JOB!!!!! Its called budgeting, maybe don’t buy BF1, R6S, and MEA at the same time. I absolutely recommend this game, it is unique and thoroughly entertaining.

If my comments offend you, then you are probably part of the entitled problem.

Early Access Review
Absalutely Great game. keep in mind it is in alpha, but it is worth the buy. the developers are great at listening to the community and really have the players in mind.

As for the game. I have been playing not long since the game has been in closed alpha, and in that time i can truly say it jsut keeps getting better and better. Every time they come up with a system that i think it really good, it changes, and while usually that would annoy me that is not the case with this game because they never senselessly change things, they IMPROVE them. I do not play on this game all the time as for the moment it is very limited on game modes (ALPHA) but i can truly say that whether it be me getting killed or killing people on the game, I always have fun playing it.

If you are a WH40K fan or even if you just liked playing space marine i highly recomend you getting this game, it is completely worth it and you will not regret buying into the most unique and best made wh40k games to ever come out.

As a gamer i feel the need to write a review, though i will keep it short.
almost all of the reviews that i have read seem to be how the game was when first played it on PS3, however i figured i would give it another try after 2 years, and got it on steam when it was on sale. so here is the conclusion.

the AI is still not as good as the alien AI in AVP but that said the developers must have done alot of patching because the aliens now have a decient AI, not great but so much better than when it was released. before the aliens could not really even kill you, now around 5-6 hits and your dead. minor bugs such as movement have been fixed i have not gotten stuck once since giving it another try. as far as it being to dark i never found that to be a problem since you can adjust the brightness at any time. finally the one thing i will say is the online multiplayer is vertually nonexisting, i sat for an hour waiting to find a match and finally gave up because no one plays it. all in all i would definitely give this game another try if you have not played it in the past year or so because many patches have fixed the game making it much closer to what we where originally promissed. (closer but not there)
