So I waited quite a while to really make an honest review on this "game". I played VRChat quite a while, in a fairly healthy amount, so i have a very good idea of how things work on VRChat. ^^

This "game" has a lot of faces. Positive and Negative, honestly this is no average game per se, it is a social interaction platform where you can interact with people from all over the world and play small games inside and make amazing friendships. When you get into VRChat, YES, this is indeed a very weird game to get into, Anime character people running around, chaotic situations, loud people and lots of people trying to be memes. That said, after a while after you meet the first "cool" people, that's when VRChat starts to become an amazing game. Knowing one cool person, you get to meet their friends and so on..

You get to meet so, and I mean so* many amazing people around this planet over time, where often friendships start that last for years to come. Real communities with people and friends emerge in there, with all benefits and also with problems once in a while. (Just like anywhere else IRL).

That said, there are all type of people in there. You have to people to differentiate the needles from the haystack. There are people with psychological problems, depression, social anexiety, people of every gender and every creed are in here. But if anyone bothers you, you simply can get rid of them with blocking them, and you don't have to deal with them anymore. Just be aware of who you let close to you, and who you call real friends.

You can talk to people about you're "problems" in IRL. They will often give you a new perspective to things and often tell you about their experiences. (New wind and new perspectives of people is always good). But try not to drag every emotions from IRL onto people in VRChat. (Don't be toxic)

Nevertheless, in this game I have made many more than amazing online and offline friendships, that have lasted me for almost three years already (since this game came out). I even had one LDR (Long Distance Relationship) due to this game, where I visited her on a regular basis, and man this was one of the most amazing times I could experience. ^-^

Side note: When creating an VRChat account, you're gonna want to create one on the Website and not log in over Steam. There's a ranking-system, where you called invisible points over time if you add friends, upload avatars and worlds and make own content. Your name color simply changes, it doesn't have any benefits it just gives other players an idea of how much time and effort you put into this game. But it's not that relevant. There's also a safety setting section, where you can choose at which rank avatars of people should be shown to you. (You get the idea)

Some VRChat ethics & explanations for beginners:

--> VRchat doesn't require a VRHeadset, most people play on PC, although I would highly recommend it at some point.
--> A lot of people just like to hang in front of mirrors, simply because you can see the whole group and yourself in one FOV.
(That said do not walk in front of people blocking their view.)
--> The "industry" of "ERP" (Erotic Role Play) is bigger than you would imagine it to be, just be aware of that.
--> Your not gonna want to choose any mainstream avatars or else people might already stamp you as a "meme" person.
--> Do not audibly or visually harass people, or you might get blocked.
--> It is quite easy to lose yourself in this game, especially in VR. Time flies by so incredibly fast, that it is scary. (You still have a
RL after all.
--> Cults and weird groups do exist, just be aware of that. xD
--> Boys can have a perfectly sounding girls voice and easily pretend to be one, also the other way around, so beware of traps.
--> Ages vary from 13 year up to 50, (even 70 years old, i heard already of)

Overall, this is one of the most amazing games out there. The start is not easy, and people do be weird. But regardless of that, it is worth a try, for everyone out there who simply want's to get a good laugh once in a while, make new amazing friendships or simply want's to get a break of their everyday life like me.

I hope this honest review helped you to get an idea of what exactly VRChat is like, and that you wan't to try it out! :3

Maybe you'll meet me in game sometime! :) ~Daniel a.k.a DanTubeLive
