Really wanted to not believe the negative reviews, but I honestly can't believe they released this. Its half-baked at best.
I understand the fact that its early access, but I was literally unable to just fly into orbit without encountering game breaking bugs. Throttle locks out at max whenever going in to map mode, and there is no way to turn it off, there is no way to get rid of the annoying pop-up window after going into the VAB without launching and then reverting.

My system is well within the requirements to handle this game, yet it still runs like I have a 500 part ship at all times. There isn't even simulated reentry or thermodynamics. There is no heat mechanic in the game. It really feels like they should have waited longer. This is not is a state that should be available to the public. I'll edit my review if the game improves.

I just want to start off by saying I loved Subnautica and have no doubt in my mind that Subnautica: Below Zero will be just as good as the first title. I am writing this review in EARLY ACCESS. The problem simply comes down to optimization. I have a substantial PC but I was unable to get the game to load 9/10 times and when I could, It was lagging far further than what most would consider playable. I will update my review when the optimization update comes.

EDIT: It has been quite some time since I wrote my original review, so I felt it needed an update, as the game is only 2 months away from official release. It is a terrific game, the optimization, while still not perfect, has come a very long way since I made my original review, the revamped story was very enjoyable, although, much, much shorter than the original Subnautica story. I enjoyed the branching storyline's and to resolution, at least as the story stands right now. I feel very comfortable changing my review to a recommendation after the substantial updates to improve this game through early acsess.

As I have put in over 1,200 hours in the past 1.25 years I have really grown to love ark, but there are still major downsides.
Pros
Ark is a extremly interactive game requiring thought in decisions and multitasking. Ark can really grab you in and its great with multiplayer. I Played singlpayer for about 6 months then started playing multiplayer and I can tell you there are pros to both. If you arnt willing to put in the countless hours you can adust settings and go at a slower of faster place then on multiplayer but on multiplayer you can get help from friends.
Cons
As stated above ark is a extremely time consuming game, its almost like a drug, you get addicted quick and cant stop, there is always a long list of things you want to get done annd youu never EVER finish it, things go wrong, and you have to restart everything, ark can be frustrating and timeconsuming but most of all, it wares out. I dont know if its because ive played it for 1200 or what but i have had 2 major times where ark has suddenly gotten really boring. These times were when updates were not rolling out everyday like they used to. They rolled out 1 time every 1 1/2 months and there was nothing to do, At one Point i had 15 Ligit tamed gigas (the strongest dino in the game) and nothing more to do but wait for a new update. Sure you can build a bigger base but what good is that if you have nothing to fill it with but fiber wood and last moths old new updated features. No to mension the release of a paid dlc while still in early accsess. Ark is past its prime atm. If i were debating wheather on not too buy it now i would probably tell you to wait untill full release.
