As an avid fan of the Dead Rising series, I'd be hard pressed to recommend this over the original release version.
That being said, if you've already played the original and are looking for something with a new coat of paint, some tweaks and QOL improvements then this might be for you, though I'm sure the latest Crowbcat has me agreeing there were definitely corners cut and unnecessary changes made.
The addition of the time skip mechanic is okay, not something I think should be available from the start as I think it would make a first time player miss out on some of the content of the game. Traversing the mall during the downtime between cases, finding new survivors or just mowing down the undead with whatever was to hand was.

All in all, I would recommend this really only to people who have played the original release and want an updated; graphically and game play wise, version of Dead rising. However, to a new player I would wholeheartedly recommend the original release. Though it may feel a little outdated, you simply cannot replicate the feel it has.

P.S. wait for a sale, this game ain't worth the price tag they got on it.
