The experience of Signs of the Sojourner was completely unexpected. As with most games, I attempted to hold no preconceptions of the game, instead opting to engage in a very reactionary way. I was moved by the music, captivated by the atmosphere, engaged with the strategy and puzzles intertwined within the dialogue. There was no adverse impact to the gameplay due to exhausting exposition or obtrusive loading screens; everything was fluid and paced intelligently.

I also found that within the mechanics of the game, there was a dearth of clunky mcguffins or afterthoughts. The tools given to you served only to enhance the playing experience, without overloading your brain with choice. Great thought and care clearly went into the development.

This is a great entry from freshman Echodog Games and look forward to future offerings from their team.
