For 10 euro on sale, I really cannot complain. The game engine looks and feels a bit dated, but its still fun. Just don't fall for one of the many ways microtransaction options are scattered throughout the game.

money grab simulator

A fun game, but after 8 hours of gameplay you have unlocked everything this game has to offer. Of course you can replay by doing other maps but the excitement of unlocking new stuff is gone.

If you keep playing the same map until you have 4 lines unlocked, you end up having to edit 1000s of signs which is also a PITA and takes loads of time.

If you can get this on sale or are satisfied with a day or 2 of fun, then get it because it is fun to play. Otherwise I would not recommend this.

Anno meets Banished. Really fun game if you like managing resources. Make sure you have enough food otherwise your people will starve.

buy Forza Horizon instead

Its great, tons of mod support and fun to play around in. Even more fun if you put the map size to Megalomaniac so you can have a 24x24km (1:1 ratio) sized map or a 10.5x52.5km (1:5 ratio) sized map! Really puts some size into this game so you can utilize things like High speed rail.

Only downside is that if you use tons of mods, setting up the initial game and mod loading order can be a bit of a fiddle. Can also get quite laggy if you have a very big map and tons of lines.

The initial game is also quite slow, you are trying to get some income going but also fighting the loan limit. You should try and start with oil/fuel, more reliable source of income at the start

Coming from playing FSX, XPlane and FS2004, this is an improvement which is almost off the charts. Almost.

Planes look superb, scenery looks great in all areas, although your house may look a little different than before it's impressive to see that all IRL buildings at least have some counterpart in game. When you fly at high altitudes you cannot see the differences at all. But at low altitudes its quite clear there is a lot of room for improvements with the generated scenery, some tunnels are shown as bridges, road bridges look really out of place for some roads and there are some weird really high towers in random places.

The photorealistic scenery of some of the cities is honestly something else, unlike I have ever seen before. It is at a level where it will blow your socks off. A bit disappointing is that is only available in 341 cities worldwide as of writing this review, but the ones which are are 10/10 as if you were there. Cannot recommend flying here enough. The premium airports also looks absolutely fantastic.

Mountain ranges look impressive and overall nature scenery is great, but could be improved a lot as the ground textures have noticeable pixels in some places.

Something I noticed while controlling aircraft is that keyboard and mouse have quite some input lag, I have heard friends say the same things, so if you have an XBOX controller I highly recommend using that for the YAW/PITCH/ROLL and having your keyboard and mouse on the side so you can interact with the cockpit.

But something which is quite disappointing are the very long loading times, took me a good 3 hours to get everything downloaded and installed. Then when you boot up the game you are greeted by GTA V comparable loading screen times. No doubt that performance will improve but that won't happen until better GPU'S, CPUS are released.

I have an i9 9900k with a GTX 1070, 16GB of RAM and was holding a steady 30 FPS on high at 3440x1440. This was not that annoying while flying but i have no doubt that higher fps will make this game feel even better. (my GPU is a clear bottleneck)

IFR has quite some glitches, when flying a route I encountered some bugs which i know the devs have to fix but make it unfeasible currently. Small planes however, are absolutely amazing to fly and really fun.

XBOX friends stuff is also a bit odd. I have my friends on XBOX already but we both bought the steam version and had to add eachother again. Not sure if it's a glitch but kinda annoying you can't see all your friends right away.

For the noob, I recommend picking this up on xbox game pass for 1 dollar and see if you like it. Price is quite steep and honestly the premium deluxe content is nice but you can live without this in my opinion. For noobs there are also some flying tutorials which you can follow to get familiar with the controls. In combination with the checklists feature this makes for a game which is easy to play with and hard to master.

For the flight sim enthusiast I cannot recommend this enough, get the version you think is right for you.

Sluggish combat, constantly the feeling that regardless what weapon you use that your enemy is better than you.

Not worth the money. Feels cheap and plasticky.

If you want to spend this money for a wireless controller, buy an xbox one. Or if you want the portable PC experience, buy a wireless keyboard and mouse for 25 euro.

Thought this game was a bargain at the pricepoint, turned out to be worth every single penny.
