I got the game after the exomech update, and it lived up to everything they said at launch.
that should mean something, since they have released a couple major patches since then.
I also own a vr headset, and I enjoy it a lot, it's one of the few AAA games that actually have full VR support

there are bugs, but I expect that from a game that lets you roam 255 different galaxies
all the procedural plants, rocks, and animals draw from a pre-made pool of assets, so after a while you might see similar features in animals, or the same tree or rock

its a shell of the last game. at least you can break apart the whole ship, but it almost always leaves floating beams behind. there is no material smelting, no unique situations, no lockpicking, basic tool upgrades, oversimplified progression (a 2 star ship just takes more swings. it could be the same items, just suddenly tougher), no manager system, hell no explorable town. its just ships and tools and repetition. its honestly okay, but such a letdown compared to the last one. its just so unpolished and empty. 3/10
