Great game. Puzzles, mystery, philosophy. While it's worth its price, in 2023 and on you're better served waiting for a sale as it goes really cheap now.

Will 100% this and then get The Talos Principle II when it's on sale.

I originally played this in 2014 and recall it being a good game. Real life happened and I never finished.

Now in 2023 I am back, picked up where I left off and while I was a little unsure of where I was or what I was doing I caught on quick enough.

For being as old as it is now this is still a great game and definitely worth playing through. I am replaying from the beginning now working on 100%, specifically playing on the hardest difficulty while also going for the no kill and all sneak achievements as well as any I missed the first time.

Great atmosphere, great protagonist, great stories.

Mankind Divided was on sale so will roll into that next.

Updated Review 12/2023
***********************************************

If you look below you'll see that I was very disappointed with the new update.

Some of it is still true, like the dev still hasn't updated the screenshots on the Steam Store page and the update was handled haphazardly and there are still new imbalance issues and weird development choices.

However it's not completely terrible and new players won't know what they're missing. It's still worth trying out. I am changing to a positive review.

ORIGINAL REVIEW AFTER DARK NEBULA RELEASE
***********************************************

Change the screenshots on the store. It's the old game that we all now miss.

Oh, while you're at it, fix the unbalanced heap that you forced on us.

There's too many problems with the Dark Nebula update to list. You'll find them scattered in other reviews. As one who works in software product development, this is terrible decision making of the highest order.

My thousands of hours on this game are on mobile, I popped on Steam to drop a bad review because...wow. Just wow.

You have to win the game. If you don't, you lose.

Great revision of Half-Life done by a team that loved what they did. Worth a buy, especially if on sale!

I want to enjoy this game, I really do, but the X-Box control icons for everything on a PC game is completely ridiculous. I spend more time trying to figure out which F-ing button I need to use. I enjoy a challenge and really wanted to play this but I will need to get an X-Box controller to do so which is just stupid.

Thumbs down as this is a PC game, it should be able to tell if I am using a keyboard or a controller.

Is it a good game? Maybe. Others say it is, but this controller stuff is backwards.

Xbox console control icons? Seriously? Friggin' ridiculous. Glad I bought it on sale. As if this game wasn't tricky enough. It's like they're forcing me to get an Xbox controller in order to play. I already wanted to get one for some games, but this is just pathetic. Can't even show the keyboard buttons except within the Key Bindings menu.

I hope I can get over this and still enjoy the game, but you're getting a big fat thumbs down from me on this.

I started playing Terraria when it was Alpha/Early Access. It's always been enjoyable. For a time it reminded me of a combination of all of my favorite old NES games, but now it's that and so much more. At a certain point they said they weren't going to release any more content, but then they ported it to console and added a ton more, and didn't stop adding until just recently.

Great side-scrolling sandbox game with lots of treasure-hunting, delving, and adventure aspects. Recommended.

Early Access Review
Wonderful game. I've always liked prolonging individual levels of RTS games like Warcraft, Starcraft, or Command & Conquer to build a big base. Or edited a multiplayer map to have massive resources so that I can wall in, defend and dominate.

This scratches that itch and so much more.

Logistics, defenses, exploration (kind of). It's really fun. I've not played with friends but I imagine that'd be pretty neat too.

I recommend!

I love the remastered version of the game. It looks great. Does it have some typical Bethesda bugs? Sure. Is it an upgraded version of their game-engine that's been around for years? Absolutely. Despite that, it's still a wonderfully immersive, beatifully executed world of wonder. I play through the game at least once a year.

People may throw around a lot of hate on the several re-releases of this game, but I fully support Bethesda. If they spent all of their time making everything 100% perfect then the game would never get released.

If you like modding, there's plenty of fun to be had. I, however, am a purist, and play the fully vanilla version of the game and still absolutely love it.

I've played the standard and remastered version on both PC and PS4. Yep, I'm a bit of an Elder Scrolls fanboy.

It's certainly not for everyone, but if nothing else, it's worth picking up when it is on sale. Happy gaming!
