As of the episode 3 release, I'm really impressed with Supplice so far. It has definitely managed to elevate itself from being a "Doom clone" since the demo.

Gameplay is very well designed, every weapon feels like it has a purpose, and a best use-case against specific enemies, and I frequently switch between them to mix things up -- none of them feel underutilized. The enemy design is varied, and all of them are instantly recognizable, very good work in this regard as well. The levels are usually large and sprawling, containing hundreds of enemies -- so despite each episode "only" having 5 maps and 1 secret level, each one is about as long as an episode you'd find in other retro FPS.

The music is great too, my favorite tunes have to be E1M2 and E1M5, I could listen to these for hours. You have a range of more melodic tracks, but also some atmospheric ones that make certain levels feel more suspenseful. The texture and sprite artist is the same as for Ion Fury, and his work is superb as always.

I also love the way the story is told through the terminals. It meshes perfectly with the fast-paced gameplay and it actually has me very invested in the characters, the setting and what will happen next -- something I can't say about similar lore documents in other recent games in the "boomer shooter" category.

Really looking forward to the next 3 episodes!

Definitely worth a try if you liked those. Beware though, it's really hard.
There's also ways to play this on a source port, if Dosbox doesn't work for you.
