tl;dr: it's fine if you just want to play another Bethesda RPG, but not something I would recommend. It's a shame that the next iteration of TES has been on hold for this.

Like:
  • the whole "analogue + clutter + lived-in" aesthetic is actually appealing (in a situational sense)
  • some of the dialogue / voice acting
Dislike
  • game settings are lacking
  • vanilla UI and menus are in desperate need of mods to make them serviceable; maps might as well be non-existent
  • the combat and gunplay
  • the music is lackluster outside of a couple of tracks
  • extremely trite factions, story, and lore. Doubly disappointing when compared to the lore that the Elder Scrolls and the Fallout universes both have
  • the actual aesthetics of the cities, universe, etc come across as incoherent and schizophrenic
  • exploring planets is slow with no mounts/vehicles, forced to jetpack everywhere and/or become an AMP addict
  • you're going to go through the same "hand crafted content" a lot
  • the implementation of the No Mans Sky gameplay loop of "scanning + collecting resources" is just as uninspired and boring as it is in NMS. Every planet becomes a very small checklist
