More in-depth video review of Quantum League can be found here:
https://youtu.be/MFqtX-j5ww0

Time travel done well & fair in a PvP environment sounds like a near impossible task, but Quantum League more than pulls it off, creating one of the most unique multiplayer games I've played. The "cloning" mechanic opens up so many possibilities and forces you to not just play in the present, but think ahead to the future! It also helps that for a Beta, it has some serious polish behind it, with gunshots feeling powerful, controls and weapons precise and close to no issues being apparent.

It's great to see a game taking small-scale 1v1 play as it's main focus, instead of it being a secondary option - all the while bringing a innovative, very thought out component, into the mix. To sum up the game with one sentence - you're literally playing with yourself.

One of, if not the best BR out there!

It's a perfect blend of complex features and simple gameplay, with everything revolving around fun. It takes the best features from it's competitors, innovates on those massively and minimized all the annoying parts to the point where they are non-existent. Starting out with both weapons already in your hand, it focuses more on combat than being a farming sim - add the simple combat system that goes hand-in-hand with the movement system and you're getting a easy to learn yet hard to master bow & axe, that provide some of the most satisfying combat in the genre!

The UI is clean and easy to navigate, mainly due to everything is available to you without requiring a extra key to access. The proximity chat allows the players to talk to their opponents; meaning the game is almost never silent, allows trashtalking and overall makes the game a ton more fun! Knowing players positions is also what makes Darwin Project different from the rest, with maps in cabins showing their exact location; and clues, left behind by players actions, like chopping down trees or crafting a upgrade, (which feels like something out of the first Culling, only not bothersome) allowing you to track them. Hence this is available to everyone, it's fair - and stops the player from questioning "Where is the other player?". The play-area itself also provides a lot of different landscapes and mobility options, even animals to kill for health! Waiting for a match to load has never been as fun as it is here as well, with you instantly being dropped into a "combat/waiting area", where you can fight or socialize with others while waiting for others to join!

Even if you're a bad player, you can still have a riot being the Director. Having the option to talk to all the players, provide them help or screw them over, is, at times, even more fun than playing the actual game. YOU can make matches so much more crazy, by dropping smartly positioned nukes, closing zones and providing heat to players in need. Your coldness is something you have to keep track of, but can be slowed down by cloaks and lowered by crafting a fire! Something I like about the closed areas is that instead of draining your health while inside them, it drains your heat level.

Darwin Project is a game very much worth your time and one I'm very much excited to see fully release at the start of the new decade!

PS: Please release it on the Switch

You can find my video review of Paint Warfare here: https://youtu.be/ij45XwGe_sY

Expecting to jump into a paintball shooter, I was disappointed with what I was greeted with. Nothing in the game is even remotely similar to paintball if you take away the blue splatter. The weapons look like normal guns, with no work done to hide the fact (nor that they aren't using paintballs as ammunition) - same applies to their sounds. Sound design is horrid in-general; I'm not over-exaggerating when I say they were painful to listen to. Even though the game is advertised as "low-poly", the graphics struck me as just poor and same can be said about the animations (or the lack of them) & map design. You're also guaranteed to counter at least a dozen of bugs, some of them quite major, others just annoying - none that can be turned a blind eye on. At it's best the game is a bad arcade shooter. You're better off playing something for free on Roblox, which will surprisingly deliver you a better looking & more polished experience.

The game isn't bad, it's decent for what it's designed to be, especially considering it's the developers first game. But the core gameplay is really repetitive and honestly, boring. You just jump around and shoot baddies, every level plays essentailly the same. I'm also not a fan of the music used, nor the low quality voicelines. The flexible options are nice though.

You can tell from the first few minutes if you're going to like this sort of a loop or not; if you do, you'll most likely like the game as well. I'm sure there's some appeal to it, but it's not something I'd play for more than 30 minutes. Is that 30 minutes worth 8 bucks? - That's up to you to say.

The first Age of Empires game always appealed to me the most, maybe it's due to the memories I have with it, playing it more than the 2nd one or me just preferring the time period. I used to play it a lot growing up, I could even say it was essentially the only game I played outside of flash games and I've wanted to re-experience the game for a decade now. So, hearing that the first game will be getting remastered alongside the second one got me really hyped up.

So was it worth the hype? Depends. If you are only here to re-experience the original game then yes, it's more than worth it. While it would've been great to have the option to play the game with it's original graphics, it's nothing that bothers me personally. However, if you're looking for anything new, you're not going to find it here and I'd much rather recommend you to check out the Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition instead.

Performance is manageable, pathfinding is a very big ehh but outside from those two - it's the same Age of Empires I fell in love with in the first place.

You can find my video review of Stick Fight here:

Being grown up with most of my time spent on playing flash games or watching animations, stick figures have always appealed to me, especially with the RHG battles. I can remember that for the longest time, it was a dream of mine to have a game such as this. This truly is a testament to everything I've wanted and the added benefit of Landfalls trademark physics-engine takes it to a whole another level of fun & joy!

Not for me personally. While I can appreciate the minimalist design and relatively simple gameplay, it gets repetitive real quick. Also the procedurally generated maps can have some really frustrating elements; what seems like a opening can just be a dead end and once in it, there's no way to get out alive - so the game basically tricked you into losing all your score.

You can find my video review of Rising Storm 2 here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyyDAqkudfA

Being brief - it's the best Hardcore Shooter out on the market. You have a ton of options if it comes to weapon handling, movement, without it feeling overwhelming. A vast selection of atmospheric maps, weapons and customization options awaits you and it also fits a magnitude of different playstyles. It feels alive, with the characters constantly speaking, screaming or even crying. The only complaint that I have is the poor optimization. While the video goes into a lot more detail, if you are a fan of the genre, it is a must have, even now as active development has been cut off!

Update 2: I can't be bothered to change what's below, the game is awesome now, better than ever in fact! While the video below is pretty much irrelevant at this point, it maintains the general "feel" it had before and really doubles down on being a roguelike. It's by all worth playing if you're itching to gut punch some polygons.

Update: sometime after the V0.2.1 the game got revamped which pretty much overhauled.. everything, to the point where the "old" and "current" GTTOD are totally different games in every regard besides it's visual direction. In many ways it made the game more confusing and removed much of the loved modes and features as well as change up the mechanics, for what I'd consider to be for the worse. The segment and video below are about the old GTTOD and while the review was originally a glaring positive, in it's current state I simply cannot recommend it.

You can find my 3 minute long video review of Get To The Orange Door here:

I've found my Run & Gun game. As a fan of the 80's aesthetic and synthwave music, there's much to like about the game! The controls are smooth, weapons feel like they're packing a punch and the movement is fast. The only thing to note is that there isn't a lot of content as of now, you're mostly going to re-play the same maps over and over again. But never the less, if you're looking for a arcade / run & gun game with solid mechanics, you can't go wrong with GTTOD!

90% of the review I wrote down below is the script I made for my 3 minute long video review of Plants vs. Zombies, which you can find here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VK4y8CV0G4

Growing up I spent a lot of time playing Flash Games and by far my favorite ones were Tower Defense games. I didn't really have (besides a few) Full-Feature games, so when I got introduced to PvZ, I was instantly hooked! It's a fairly simple game - zombies want to get into your house to eat your brains, so you plant plants to stop them from doing so. With each level you complete, you earn a new item or a plant and can expect stronger zombies to appear. But that still sounds like a typical tower defense game. What PvZ mastered is the pacing.

Whenever the game starts getting even a little repetitive, it throws you into a mini-game that completely changes everything and oh they're small now. Every single time I've booted up this game just to play it for a few minutes, I end up spending hours due to how it sucks you in and all of this is backed up by one of the best soundtracks ever. Seriously, while there are so many greatly composed albums out there, I would easily put this at the top. After hearing it for hundreds maybe even thousands of times, I still get excited when a horde is coming, due to how seamlessly the music transitions from a calm beat to energetic one and the only game that has come close to doing this since has been DOOM.

But what really makes the game work is it's goofiness and how it embraces it. Appearances such as Crazy Dave or the letters zombies leave you before the final level of each stage or really anything in this game makes it such a fun experience that fills you up with joy, that simply hasn't been replicated in any other game in the franchise or really anywhere else. Even when you beat the campaign, there's a lot of post-campaign content to keep you engaged, such as the Zen garden or a number of different mini-games and puzzles.. and re-playing the campaign from the start with all your progress kept from your previous playthrough is also an option. It's still as exciting as ever when Zomboss stomps up on your roof for the final battle and once beating him, you get one of the best credit scenes in history.

A lot of stuff got marked as spoilers due to they are worth finding out yourself if you don't know about them already!

While Plants vs. Zombies definitely isn't the only game celebrating their 10th anniversary this year- Happy late Birthday 🎉, it is the one closest to my heart. I would definitely recommend it, even for the full price (5$). If you like tower defense games or are trying to get into the genre, don't sleep on this gem!
