One of the coziest and most lovingly crafted games I've ever played, if you enjoy the old Harvest Moon games you'll almost certainly enjoy Stardew Valley. The sound design is wonderful, the characters are varied and well written, and there's such a wealth of content that I return to play through it again every year or so just to explore things I hadn't done previously.

Even several years and several hundred hours more in, this game still has new things to find and new experiences to uncover. ConcernedApe has continued to add content to this world and the game is even more worth the price and time invested than it was when I first wrote the first part of this review.

Absolutely wonderful little game about cheating at poker. If you enjoy deckbuilding games like Slay the Spire and know a thing or two about poker, give it a go!

Absolutely lovely little cozy game, great soundtrack, even better foley work!
The game's only around 6ish hours long, but if you want to spend an afternoon experiencing a story told through contextual clues while listening to some of the best sound work in any game ever, I can't recommend another game more highly.

Early Access Review
An absolutely ridiculously deep zombie survival sim with great single player or multiplayer options, the game can be extremely tense but also has lots of opportunity for downtime to keep things from getting too overwhelming. Manage things as broad as securing and fortifying a base to as specific as keeping your character at a comfortable temperature, the game is far deeper than it appears to be on the surface.
It very much is a make your own fun experience, as things are relatively sustainable after a few months spent in game. Build a base from scratch, collect things, or just see how much you can explore. Do whatever is the most fun for you!

Monster Hunter World is a very engaging experience if you enjoy mastering a set of mechanics. There are 14 weapon types, each with many different interlocking moves. Mastering multiple weapon types provides plenty of variety to the hunting experience, as the weapons feel very different from one another. The monsters all have multiple attacks that interweave as well, which always keeps the combat interesting.
The world is oozing with personality as well. From the lovingly rendered meals, which your hunter consumes with unnatural enthusiasm, to the movement of the monsters themselves. Everything in this game is enthusiastic to be there, and enthusiastic for you to be there too.

A fantastic game for those with an itch for exploration. The worlds are expansive, the sounds endearing, and the overall atmosphere relaxing and chill. I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Minecraft, No Man's Sky, Subnautica, or just wants an interesting and engaging little romp of an experience.

This game has improved massively since initial release.
I would recommend this to people looking for a chill exploration and construction experience, but not to anyone looking for action or a guided narrative experience. I've been enjoying it thoroughly, and find it hitting the same chords as Minecraft and Starbound for me.
The NEXT update has added quite a lot more content to the game. I would still say that more content is warranted, and I hope that hello games continue support for the game in the future.

Very well designed, fantastic soundtrack, worth playing through at least twice. As of the date of writing this review, this is my favorite game of all time. Worthy of the praise it has seen. I would recommend that anyone who is interested in learning how to tie game mechanics into storytelling and world building give this game a try.

Space. Lots of space.
If you enjoy space and flight simulation then you'll probably enjoy this game. It isn't going to tell you what to do, you'll need to make your own fun. Maybe you'll want to trade between stations, maybe you'll want to mine valuable minerals, maybe you'll want to shoot down pirates or even unsuspecting players, or maybe you'll just want to cruise out into the black emptiness and discover all the pretty things that are floating out there.
As long as you enjoy making your own goals, I can't think of any reason not to completely recommend this game.

A very bleak game that provides great indirect opportunities for player choice. Do you let someone in just because they beg you? Do you deny someone just because they're being condescending? If you let someone through because they have all of the appropriate paperwork but then his wife doesn't, do you deny her according to policy or do you let her through to unite their family and risk losing your job in the process?
The most engaging menial task simulator I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Glory to Arstotzka.
