The comments section of "Tardigrades" is a laugh riot for me. One of my favorite comments:

"You rip off dune almost verbatim save changing a 1 to a 2 and you're gunna sue CBS for plagarism? You're a piece of♥♥♥♥♥♥" -PillBoxHead

Wow, you got the "infinite creation" achievement in Stellaris. Apparently only 0.2% of the people who own that game have ever done that. :engineercat:

Right Spencer. Probably nothing you dont already know hear but I can type out an info dump for you.

From the test results I have seen on different systems it seems a single 580 provides about as much performance as you can squeeze before a 3.2Ghz CPU begins to bottleneck your fps. This is made most evident when comparing SLI systems with and without an overclocked CPU. At 3.2Ghz performance in most games stays about the same with or without the additional card, overclock the same CPU and the SLI setup pulls ahead.

Your 680 probably doesn’t shunt as much work to the CPU as two 580s would, but your CPU is always going to be involved in some part of the rendering process. Even if that’s just passing a check sum back and forth, your GPU is still going to have to wait for it before it rushes ahead rendering more frames.

In skyrim you can easily explain your low frame drops. Bethesda use the havok physics engine, which was ATI's baby. AMD haven’t done any work on it since they bought out ATI a good few years ago now so its mostly CPU bound on your nvidia system. Bethesda are not known for their programing skills either, I wouldnt be suprised if their game engine dosnt delegate particles or some element of shadow rendering to the CPU as well.

In other games check your anti-aliasing, remember FXAA is nvidia's creation, MLAA is AMDs. You might want to to stick to FXAA. Also try using regular 8 times or FXAA but not both at once.

Hey chris this is spencer. So in skyrim, even with vsync turned off, my framerate drops as low as 38 sometimes. Is that really my cpu bottlenecking my 680?

It may take years but I plan to catch up with chris! The man has games!
