It's terribly difficult to put into words how much Quake III means to me, but I'll briefly attempt to do so regardless. If you totaled all of my hours on various ioquake3 mods together with Quake Live, my hours would total in the high hundreds (maybe more). My biological and social experience of growing up as a human being was, and still is haunted by memories of Quake III. When I skip to the bus stop in the early morning, I cavort to my destination in imitation of Bitterman's bunnyhop. When I defend myself from the beasts of my nightmares, I do so with the Lightning Gun. Quake III was the second womb I lived in, and when I expire I ought to be buried with a copy of her cradled in my arms. What for most people is a game like any other is my providence, my truest and most uncompromising love. I need her like a flower needs sunlight

To recount some chronicles:

• Dudes from Czechia asking 7 year old me what my favorite beer is, and to never forget that Czech beer is the best (I don't drink and I've never had Czech beer, but it's still the best).
  
• My teenage self asking the server who was playing on Linux, to which someone replied: "We all are dumbass"
  
• Realizing I can put Sonic characters in Quake for the first time
  
• My father burning the soundtrack onto a disc and playing it in the car
  
• Watching & reacting to the 2014 World Cup with a whole server
  
• Dueling a German guy after he begged me to do so, and proceeding to play other games with him via Skype afterwards
  
• Getting an addict to ragequit with some help from a friend

And many more that I've either forgotten or that I am yet to remember.

The purpose of life is to know God and enter Heaven, yes. My eyes began dripping like flowstones of an ancient cave when I realized she had lived within me all along.

It is the greatest multiplayer FPS of all time. There cannot be another. To be fair, it would be impossible for any game to live up to the blank slate mystique that my Quake III will forever possess.
