Over 8 years of constant updates and still no end in sight, Stardew Valley shows that is a passion project of ConcernedApe.

While there are a lot of farming simulators out there now, it just does so many things the right way. The art style, the gameplay loop as well as memorable NPCs just make you return to this game, again and again.

While initially there were doubts if FromSoftware could actually manage the jump into the Open-World genre, they have been washed away by the resounding success of this game.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel of the Dark Souls formula - but in this case, that's completely fine. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", as they say. Improve upon it, rather. And they did.

A character creator even more solid and detailed than before, hundreds of weapons, armor-pieces and spells to choose from and a simple, yet intuitive stat- & leveling-system to create your own, unique character to brave the unforgiving, but visually diverse and beautiful world that is the Lands Between ...

... or don't and just jump into the game with a default, preset character using run-of-the-mill meta-weapons because you're bad at these type of game. It's fine, you decide on how to have fun in a game. There are options for everyone.
But most importantly - even if the game is on the harder side of difficulty - persevere against the challenges until you can overcome them, and the game will reward you with something that is mostly forgotten these days and which has lost its meaning in this day and age:

An actual sense of "pride and accomplishment".

10 years and counting, dozen of (final) updates and a few witty crossovers and yet still no end in sight.
Other games would have been abandoned long ago already or would have asked to pay up again for all the additional content. But not this game, no.
If there is one game deserving the "Labor of Love" award of The Steam Awards, then it's Terraria. No other game has stuck with it's players for so long while asking for so little. No other game has received so much love for so much time from it's developer. No game manages to make me and my friends returning back to it so willingly.

Probably the most fun Co-Op Rogue-like out there.

Dark Souls meets God Eater
Awesome Character Editor and a story you wouldn't expect from a seemingly edgy Vampire Anime.

Heartily recommended. In my option the golden standard of what and how a free-to-play game should be in recards of content and microtransactions.

Even though that statement may be already be beaten to death, yes, besides that RPG that is included in Gwent, the card game itself is a simple, yet also interesting game.
