Nothing is as it appears, but everything can be made to make sense in the best mystery game I've played since Return of the Obra Dinn. Golden Idol makes you think in similar ways (and about similar things -- identity, death, and crime) but using a point and click interface to investigate and explore. If you let yourself get into the scenarios, take notes, and put the pieces together yourself, the experience is fun and rewarding.
