Surprisingly fun and faithful to the films. Has that same "doesn't take itself too seriously" vibe. Makes a refreshing change from other shooters.

Having to re-review this now, given a few years of play.

A Solid State Drive is a must for this game, else the load times are just too long. It's gradually matured from a, well, bit of an empty shell, into a fully fledged game, which I suppose is how any game in The Sims series tends to go.

I still lament the loss of player-buildable "downtown" areas. Yes there are some, but most are now "rabbitholes" that your sim dissappears into and interacts with via the right click menu, rather than directly. I liked designing restaurants, clubs etc. Ah well.

The new features are welcome however, such as the design a style feature. Almost infinite customisation, which means I can design different style interiors rather than always resorting to the same two or three sets of furniture or wallpapers.

All in all, pretty good.

It's immense fun, as are all the Lego Games. My only advisory is that this one seems to crash far more readily than others in the series. Can be a bit frustrating. But this may just be my PC. Your mileage may vary.

I bought this game on Steam to see if it's as bad as I remember.

It is.

Gameplay: I am familar with Cossacks, but this completely throws all sense of balance and playability out of the window. Campaign maps are just random blobs with very poor scripting, little of the objectives make sense.

Historical Accuracy: Laughable. Bears a passing resemblance to the 1st World War at best. No Trenches, campaign maps again bear no resemblance to reality, some ridiculous unit choices.

Media: The menus are graphically awful, and the music makes my ears bleed.

It's an oldie, but a goodie. Much like it's Battlefield series progenitors, it's not very good as a single player game. Better than BF1942 or BF2 single player, as there is actually a coherent campaign, voiceover work etc. But, still, mainly a multiplayer affair.

Possibly the most fun i've ever had from a game. It's caustic, breaking the fourth wall humour perfectly parodies early FPS, currently FPS games, and the 80s action movies it's based on. And the soundtrack is AMAZING.

A very fun modern reimagining of the original. While the difficulty curve ramps up quite severely when you are suddenly given strategic control, it's a very well made game. Well, it's made by the makers of Arma. What did you expect?

I do reccomend this game, although I feel it falls somewhere between Oblivion and Morrowind. Oblivion was just...awful. Morrowind was brilliant. This is a great game, but flawed. It's clearly been tuned for the casual console generation, as you level up and progress through the story so quickly.
