The mantra for this game from the devs at BF Studios was "MAKE GOOD GAME" and boy did they deliver.

I've mainly played BF3 and BF4, skipping 1 and V because I preferred modern shooters. And skipping 2042 because... yeah. This game is everything I expect from a Battlefield sequel. It's a grounded Battlefield with modern movement, graphics, gunplay, etc. Coming from 50 hours of the beta, this game at release is extremely polished and runs very well. The gunplay feels so satisfying, the visuals are spectacular, and, most importantly, the devs/producers are actively engaged with the community.

To me, they learned from their mistakes and proved that they can still produce a seriously awesome FPS game. Alexia Christofi, one of the producers at BF Studios, remarked that "2042 was a baptism of fire, but I loved the franchise & knew I would stay part of it because this team can make amazing things." They have the confidence needed to make this game great, and I seriously cannot wait for the extra content that they'll bring to this game in the future.

Battlefield is back and I couldn't be happier.

This game simply should not have been released so soon, even now that mod support is out, many months after release, it’s just not a finished game.

CO should have launched with an open beta (or more accurately, alpha) and let the community give feedback that way.

Instead, they:

1. Launched a buggy game and charged full price
2. Pretended nothing was wrong
3. Backpedaled by admitting they were behind schedule
4. Criticized the criticism
5. Asked for more money via an empty DLC

So, don’t buy this game until they actually fix it. Then again, maybe it won’t ever be fixed because they lied about the “deep simulation” in the first place. It was all just marketing. Then, they said it was just some bugs that needed to be fixed (it wasn’t and they still haven’t actually fixed them, or it actually was just some bugs… and they still haven’t actually fixed them).

This game is just straight up not a simulator. If you can run it, it’s a pretty game, and the improved UI/UX, models, textures, etc. are genuinely nice. But as far as gameplay goes, it’s essentially a Fisher Price city simulator. Everything is just… fake.

I wonder if EA will steal CO’s thunder with a new Sim City, it’d be pretty easy.

I’m a sucker for buying this game.

Or maybe CO just lied.

P.S. I’m just gonna say that being upset that modding is not through the workshop is silly, because the idea is to make one hub for all platforms. So a separate platform integration is kinda pointless. That’s such a strange thing for the community to be upset about, especially when the Steam workshop isn’t even that good lol
