It has been 9 years between this game and the last original character action game IP in The Wonderful 101.
It's also one of this decade's better showings of what a PS4-era/AA title looks like, to the point of winning awards.

Hi-Fi RUSH is a character action rhythm game created by the late, the great, Tango Gameworks, responsible for Ghostwire Tokyo and the Evil Within series. Main character Chai is a wannabe rockstar who attends Vandelay Campus and ends up having his music player accidentally installed in his body, allowing him to feel the world's beat and take action against the corporation that transformed him, meeting a colorful cast of characters along the way.

The characters are well-written and funny, the setpieces are one-of-a-kind, the music is a real treat... on Streamer mode (I won't judge you if you've turned that off though) and the gameplay is superb for what it is.

Controls and combat is fast, snappy, and leaves you coming back for more even after 10 more runs of "FORSAKEN".

Two-dimensional fighting game with a large cast of characters, alternate story paths from the previous game Sharp Reload, and many techniques in which one can string together combos with, like the Gatling Combination system and Roman Cancels. The Guilty Gear veterans like this one the most.
