You won't find a better 80's boxing/kung fu fighting management tycoon game. That's not to say it's a perfect game but this game is undoubtedly one of the more management games I've ever played. Not to mention, this game has some of the best pop culture references I've seen in a while, so many familiar faces! However, before I give my opinion, allow me to explain how the game works.

In Punch Club, you take on the role of a fighter who's father was murdered by a mysterious red eyed, fedora toting douchebag who brings a gun to a fist fight. You will have to manage 3 main attributes which are STR (strength), AGI (Agility), and STA (Stamina). You increase these stats by training in the gym and use them to defeat opponents in fights. STR affects damage output but increases energy consumption. AGI increases your accuracy and your ability to dodge. STA affects how much energy you regenerate during the fight and at the end of each round. Each stat obviously has it's benefits but it's in your best interest to only focus on one or two, not all three. Having a well-balanced fighter is a bad thing when fighting specialized fighters.

You will also have to manage your health, hunger, sleep and mood. At first, it'll be tough to have enough money to eat yet still train so that you can compete against tougher fighters. My best advice to you is to work about 2 shifts, eat, sleep and train as much as you can before rinsing and repeating. Eventually, you'll get involved in ultimate fights which start to pay the bills and when you're finally able to beat the 'Rookie League,' you'll really start making money. Oh, you also go to Russia but that's all I'll say about that.

The largest focus of the game is the fights. Now this game is strange in the sense that it decided to take direct fighting control away from the player and instead base it on the aforementioned stats and seemingly unforgiving RNG mechanics. While this can be annoying, it's also led to some real nailbiters. It should also be noted that there are 3 fighting styles that can be unlocked as your character obtains Skill Points (SP). Along with these fighting styles, you'll unlock skills and perks that are used in combat. All of these skills are activated during combat automatically based on the amount of energy you have and perks are always active in a passive manner.

So what is my actual opinion of the game? Well, to be honest, I love it. It's a blast. It's annoying as hell but it's still a lot of fun and has a metric ton of charm. Sometimes the game is unbearably grindy like when I was trying to beat the Rookie League but then it suddenly gets super easy once get to Russia. Sometimes the fights feel like total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when your character is significantly better than another fighter but he somehow gets lucky. Even with these issues, would I recommend it? For 10 bucks? Hell yeah, this is a game that everyone should experience. Especially fans of movies from the 80's and early 90's!

Definitely recommended.

This game is tough. You will lose a lot and most of that time will not be your fault at all, just unforgiving Dice Gods who love to see you squirm. With that said, I like this game. Basically, you're the captain of a ship called the Iktomi which is on a mission to Mars. Disaster strikes and cripples your ships food stores leaving your group in a very dire situation in which it must find ways to generate new food while surviving the unforgiving hell that is space. You will have to resort to cannibalism at points. You will manage the groups food and health while also trying to repair damage caused by unending meteoroid strikes. However, you do have ways to control what is otherwise just a random number generator simulator... For example, assists which can stop crewmen from being injured or using your dice to repair the ship, heal the crew based on someone's class. You have to survive 10 whole weeks, which doesn't sound that long but so far the furthest I've gotten is about 5 weeks in and even then, only 2 people of my original 4 made it that far. Personally, I can't wait to see what other missions they add in.
Pros:
-Addicting gameplay
-It's like an interactive board game
-Who doesn't like ripping fingernails off in anger?
-Well-drawn and voice acted cutscenes in between turns that add a little cinematic quality to the nightmare
-It's a really good looking game. I love how when you zoom up to a module you can really just sit there and inspect it. Take all those details in!
-Cannibalism!
-Lots of managing resources is going on despite the restrictions by a RNG.
-Plenty of events that make you wonder if space really is a place Mankind should go, you know, because of all the brutal unending death that seems prevalent throughout.

Cons:
-I don't like ripping fingernails off in anger.
-This game is really hard and sometimes it feels unfair. I'd just prefer to roll the dice myself.
-Can they make an easy mode?
-The tutorial leaves much to the player to figure it out themselves.
-RNG is lame but an almost necessary evil.
-It's not an actual boardgame that can be bought.

In summary, this game is good and pretty cheap for some quality entertainment. I can't wait to see what other missions they add in.

Not bad, not great but not bad. It's your usual Tower Defense-esque game, think Age of War with a good selection of units and plenty of fast paced enemies ready to bring your whole base crumbling down. It's simple, you build units and towers to hold back enemies while attempting to complete objectives. You can build buildings, upgrade units and unlock more units the more resources you obtain over time. There are some nice things like the graphics which is your usual low rez 16 bit that has become rather popular in indie games nowadays but there are also some rather annoying things like the ludicrously small unit cap or the fact that there even is a unit cap in a game like this. You're already limited in the amount of space in which things can be built, which is fine, but also considering turrets and actual units both occupy unit cap, it gets annoying rather fast. Also, survival mode isn't as good as the campaign so it seems that once everything is complete, there isn't much else to do. Hopefully, as the game is developed, there will be more replayability added to it.
My final thoughts, I don't regret buying it, it's not bad if a bit overpriced. I think an even 5 bucks or 4.99 would be a more worthy pricetag of the current product because this isn't really anything you haven't seen before in a game like Age of War.

Sweet bubbly goodness. This is pretty much a new take on games like Oregon Trail. The whole purpose is to scour randomly generated maps of various climates and conditions while searching for a Golden Pyramid! You will find sometimes welcoming natives who, if they like you, can be the difference between life and having your leg chewed off by a hungry companion yet also angry aggressive cannibals, if they don't like you. You'll find tombs and tomes of great worth that can be sold for money to fund further expeditions or gifted to museums for untold fame. Did I mention you're competing against other expedtions? That's right, it's all about the fame here and if you want to be the most famous explorer, you're going to have to piss off a few natives by stealing their birthrights while also capturing magnitudes of butterflies. Careful you don't piss off the wrong God though or you'll end up in the bottom of a bit or melting in a volcano. I think my favorite part of the game, which some would argue against, is the fact that the encounters are wholly random and unpredictable. It makes sure that every expedition truly feels like I'm traveling to a mysterious world with almost no way to predict the future. I do wish there was an easier mode for the later 2 expeditions though, that'd be great. Truly, my rambling could go on but I will finish on one final note, my dear curious reader... buy this game and join the expedition.

WARNING to you, my friend, don't fight the tigers.

I like this game. Dungeon Souls is a top-down roguelike hack 'n' slash dungeon crawler where you are attempting to delve deeper into a dungeon by finding locations on each level called "marks." There are the usual threats that come with a dungeon crawling roguelike; like traps, hangry demons and waves of skeletons. The game comes off as a mix between the Gauntlet Reboot and Rogue Legacy... so it falls somewhere around Hammerwatch which is definitely a good thing. It's all very fast paced and the combat is undoubtedly addicting, I love using the Archer and calling down an arrow storm on the bloodthirsty dungeon denizens! It also seems like it doesn't take too long to get good at the game and unlock all of the various characters as after about 2 hours in, I've already got most of them.
My only major complaints are the rather short length of the game (I'm sure more content will be added as the game is in early access) and the lack of tooltips or a tutorial that tell you all the controls and how to effectively play the game. I actually didn't find out that TAB opens a skill screen until I went into the Discussion Hub on steam. All in all, not a bad foray into a Dungeon Crawling Rogue-like.

At first glance, this game was not something I liked or cared for in any general sense. Being an on the rails shooter bullet hell type game without weapons, you can imagine it became incredibly frustrating, very quickly. That frustration amounted to full blown hatred of the game, the 120 second timer, the lack of weapons and only 3 special abilities... but... after about 3 hours of game time, I realized that although I wanted to smash my head against the wall, I was actually enjoying trying to get 100 Quasars on each level (the white orbs you collect to win the level.... you need 100 on each level to fight the bosses). Sometimes the game seems impossibly unfair and about as challenging as walking to the moon on glass shards but when you finally succeed, you feel like you truly accomplished something that not every gamer would be able to do. At this point, I've beaten the first nine levels and I'm on the second boss and I think I've met my match but considering I at first despised this game and now I've come to respect it, I'd say it's worth the money.
Pros:
-Hard, omg it's so hard
-Pretty nice graphics
-Winning feels like ejaculation. It's just wonderful.
-Easy to learn, with abilities that can save your ass... a lot.
-Lots of unlockables
-Later levels become insanely fast

Cons:
-Oh my flying spaghetti monster, this game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard!
-No weapons (you're meant to survive without getting hit, even in boss fights)
-120 second timer. That doesn't sound very long but when you've got about 5000 rocks about to smash into you, it is.
-It'd be nice if there was an "easy, normal or hard option" because this game defaults to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ INSANE
-I know the story isn't a huge focus and from a fiction stand point is fine but scientifically it's like what? No more suns in the whole galaxy? Coooooome ooooon.

Final Verdict: If you like to rip the veins out of your arms one by one using a Toothpick then this game is for you. Bullet Hell types will find a lot of enjoyment here, especially out of the boss fights which really add in variety to the base gameplay. And if you're going to buy this game, don't judge it based on the first couple of playthroughs, get all the abilities and play to the first boss and then judge it. Recommended for the masochists out there.

Since no one else is jumping to review this game, i suppose I will. It's solid. It's not the best and it clearly needs some work, primarily in the graphical portions of the game (water clips through ships and the waves can be higher than towns sometimes. It's odd watching a wall of water pass through your ship without the ship reacting to it). Gameplay on the other hand is very similar to games like Sid Meier's Pirates or Windward just with more focus on questing and you sailing back and forth throughout the world for reasons I'll not spoil here. There is a heavy focus on Sea Combat so you won't have any boarding actions or land battles like in Sid Meier's Pirates. You sail the boat using WASD and your cannons are fired automatically. Basically, you have a certain firing arc on your ship which you need to keep on the enemy ship and then they will fire after a few seconds. Theoretically, you could fire both sides of your ship as long as you keep both within the firing arc. So gameplay is pretty simple from what I've seen so far.
You've also got some pretty intense customization in the game and as you pick up bigger and better ships, you'll also be able to get more things to customize your ship with (Flags, Sail colors/designs, hull designs or color patterns etc). Your crew can also get injured and gain experience which affects the efficiency of your ship and how you perform in combat. You can hire new crewman by sailing into port, going to a "tavern" and dragging them onto your ship for a nominal fee. It's all pretty standard stuff for the "Pirate" Genre but it does do some pretty cool things with passive bonuses (Artifacts, skilled crewmen etc) that you might not see in other Pirate games. And I think that's what sets Tempest apart from games like Windward, you can really make your Pirate ship your own... think Pirates of the Burning Sea levels of customization, which is cool. For an early access game, this one is looking pretty good. Honestly my main complain is just the water clipping through stuff, it's crazy distracting.
Also, watch out for freaking Krakens. They are definitely out there.

If you like novels and choose-your-own-adventures then this is definitely your game. It's a bit hard to read at first and it definitely helps to have knowledge of the Warhammer Universe because in the first 15 minutes of the game, you're introduced to Terminators, Space Hulks, Strike Cruisers, Epistolaries, Tech-Adepts, the Warp, teleportariums, genestealers, gretchinz, lightning claws and all manner of various Warhammery things. The basis of the game is you are Brother Nabor of the Imperial Fists Chapter and you are a Space Marine. More specifically, you're part of a squad of Space Marines tasked with exploring a Space Hulk that has just been "vomited" out of the warp. Be careful though, the wrong choice can lead to you dying very quickly as the Warhammer Universe is rather unforgiving. There is combat in the game but from what I've experienced so far, it's rather shallow. You can choose a target, attack, and focus but seemingly not much else. You have wounds which indicate your health, honour which can be built up to unleash a powerful attack, sort of like a rage meter or something and everything is done on a pretty simple green grid. The models are actually pretty good looking but it all looks like simple telemetry. This game could've done well to have just a bit more art in it, I would think. The music, despite being only one track, is nice and creepy, just as a game involving a Space Hulk should be!

Being a mobile port, I can already tell there are a few issues when attempting to select things, like the difficulty for example but hopefully that'll be ironed out in time. As I discover more, I'll be sure to update this review. As it stands, this reads very interestingly and I find myself wanting to know what happens next. If you like text-based adventures then this is definitely a worthwhile game, otherwise keep waiting for Dawn of War III.

I see an absolutely painful amount of potential here... Potential that has been completely and utterly ravaged by Free to play, pay to win mechanics. The microtransactions have taken this already struggling classic series and violated it in ways I can hardly express verbally.

All I can say is, Why? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHY? Another classic series ruined by this crap.... first ANNO and Settlers, and now this ♥♥♥♥? I just... I just cannot justify buying another Ubisoft game because of this. Rest in peace, Might & Magic.

This game has come a long way since it first released in Early Access. Now there is a persistent, fleshed out campaign for all four factions currently in the game and the interface and gameplay is smoother than it has ever been. Characters level up, get new equipment and start to take on personalities for themselves (with your imagination) sort of like XCOM and it really sucks when someone you've been grooming for greatness gets taken out completely. Also, be careful, the campaign mode does have a game over/perma death feature. Unfortunately those loading screens are still absolutely horrendous... especially when some of the levels last just as long as they do. Honestly though, there has never been a better representation of the Tabletop game of Mordheim on a visual medium than this game and I only hope more factions can be added, more humour brought from the actual game itself, and more content be added into this already complete package. Definitely recommended.
