Instantly felt like an Ace Combat game from the first mission: cheesy dialogue, frenetic aerial action and outlandish superweapons. Good stuff! Wish I could play it with my flight stick though.

Early Access Review
I haven't played many battle royale games previous to Last Tide, so I won't be comparing it to PUBG or Fortnite. It's a fun game with a few quirks to iron out, but given how well the devs have done at maintaining their last game, Depth (still releasing updates and new content 4 years after launch), I have a lot of faith in them.

The three-dimensional nature of a fight in water and a few unique weapons make Last Tide a bit more interesting than your typical shoot-em-up game. It's quite fun to lob a "chum-nade" at a cluster of enemy players and watch sharks swarm them. The tension of creeping into an underwater base alone, when an enemy squad could be right around the corner, can provide quite a thrill.

Being in Early Access, a few important things are missing, like a method of communication with squad members, but we can expect something like that to come soon. I'm looking forward to seeing how the devs intend to make Last Tide stand out in the battle royale game market.

This game is wicked fun! The learning curve is moderate, but those who stick with it will find plenty of action and entertainment.
The server population is generally low, but it increases during sales and in-game events. The developers have continued to create new content since release, including new sharks, item and player skins, skin crafting, daily quests for skins and game modes for events. Developers also rely on the community for input on new content, such as choosing the next shark to be implemented in the game.
The community is fairly non-toxic. Occasionally, you'll run into high-level pubstompers or some noobs whining about hacks (which I haven't seen much evidence of), but you'll also meet players who are willing to help newbies improve. A few players also create very high-quality Workshop content, so be sure to meander over there and check out their work.
Well worth the money, especially during a sale!

Edit: years later, devs are still releasing content. Real Labor of Love Material here.
