A new benchmark for the genre, a must-play if you like RPGs.

Although lacking some of the game play improvements made in Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 is gritty, dark, and challenging game that always had me returning for more. Satisfying combat, creative enemies, exceptional level and world design.

My main criticism would be related to areas (looking at you Farron Keep) that are simply frustrating to navigate. In addition, there has been many times where I didn't have a clue where to go next; what I perceived as a dead-end, actually was critical path to progress the story - if I had only noticed a inconspicuous lever next to a wall. Although not as pervasive as in Elden Ring, difficulty spikes is also a problem with DS3.

Despite that, I still enjoyed my time playing as the Unkindled One.

No other game I've played has invoked such wonder, mystery, and sense of adventure - Elden Ring is without a doubt a true masterpiece, a game that will leave a lasting impact in the gaming genre for generations to come.
Yes, it is hard - but nothing is insurmountable, and that feeling of defeating a difficult enemy is thrilling and palpable. Thank you FromSoftware for such a beautiful experience.
