It's Elden Ring, this may be one of the pinnacles of gaming in our lives.

Recommend grabbing this on sale and enjoying the ~ 3 1/2 to 4 hour ride. I haven't replayed it but the game is a fun mix of platforming and some fun puzzles. Nothing too hard, but definitely a fun story. Daniel Mullins games all have this surreal metaphysical quality to them with pretty good writing about the ephemeral experience of life and what it means to exist in this meat space.

Great entertainment for a buck.

Early Access Review
I only have 9 hours in so can't give a thorough review. But I'm getting decent framerates with a 3070 GPU and the game is functional and fun. It's very much "EFT in the jungle" and that's a good thing.

Insanely fast loading screen to get in and get back once you die. Otherwise you're always in. Really cool departure from different maps and how raids would "traditionally" work.

Edit: Even better frames since the hotfix. Devs are being very responsive, one of the biggest complaints (not being able to switch factions) has already been brought into the game. I HAVE LOST EQUIPMENT, it's OKAY - it's all going to go poof in a wipe eventually anyways. It's a damn fun game, buy the cheap version - support some good independent devs - and enjoy it for what it is.

Quite a cute game and lots of fun little card combos. If you enjoy deck builders and an adorable cast, with a decent ongoing story to boot, grab this title. The value is there at full price, if you get this on sale you'll be even happier. The story-telling reminds me of Hades, in how it has a story in between the loops, albeit far stripped down.

I've not unlocked everything yet and 8 hours in it keeps surprising me and I am still deciphering fresh combos and strategies.

What is there to say, it's Red Dead Redemption 2. If you're on the fence about buying this it's about the closest and most immersive Western simulation you'll come across. The writing is excellent, the dialogue explosive, and the characters all seem pulled straight out of the old west.

Do yourself a favor and buy this game, you won't regret it. The controller support is top notch and feels good. A swell relaxing time to be had playing one of the most memorable stories I've seen in a long time.

What. A. Game. 10/10

I played through this long enough now to get to the first ending and open up challenges and a harder difficulty playthrough. This game is a brutal treat, a gem really, that will have you simultaneously praising the gorgeous art and visceral gore while pulling your hair out as you try to fight the same boss for the 15th time. It almost feels like a 2d Dark Souls game. When you finally do figure out how to beat a boss though it's very rewarding and each one has an awesome death animation.

Gameplay is engaging and fun. with a traditional 2d side scroller fighting game feel to it. Timing matters and blocking an attack to perform an execution is rewarded with sick as ♥♥♥♥ animation and guts and blood. This game is gorey in all the right ways. As the game goes on you'll unlock new move sets and grow your character and yourself into a more effective fighter.

The story is captivating but it is quite odd, twisted and not linear as most of the story has to deal with what brought about the world your character inhabits. All of the voice work is superb and hits the right notes. There are multiple endings and you can make choices in the game that will lock you out of stuff. The choices and their consequences are subtle, perhaps only story related at times, and you may not even know you're making one at the time.

The "rogue-like" elements do appear, you can use items to build your character and gain power ups in an order of your choosing but usually you'll find some items of particular use to the boss or area you are in. I don't believe the levels are randomly generated, though I haven't played enough yet to generate a second world, but I'll try to correct this if I am wrong.

"Sorrowful be the heart, Pentinent One." Go forth and slay.

Wow ... a storytelling EXPERIENCE. I rarely finish games, this one gripped me from beginning to end. About 10 hours or so of gameplay, I'm not sure if there is much replay value to be had - perhaps a few dialogue variations.

The themes of existentialism, the threat of AI, and humanity's future are all beautifully blended together in a deeply enthralling way. This game is scary and definitely has its moments of terror but it is not heavy on jump scares (there are a couple though).

The graphics hold up well. Mechanically there isn't any novel ground being tread but what is there is solid and works well. This game is definitely more about inhabiting the mind of Simon and less about running away from scary stuff although it does have plenty of times where you will be doing just that.

Buy this one on sale and you will more than get your money's worth in entertainment value. Definitely a game that gives you a lot to think about.

Relatively short game; I didn't 100% it but got through the story in 11 hours - and that's after plenty of failure. It reminds me of a 2d shooter version of Dead Souls, in that it really is a puzzle game about how to clear the level at its core. Gameplay is reminiscent of Hotline Miami.

The soundtrack is very moody and fits the levels well. The gameplay is fun and controls are pretty tight. I'm not really sure if you're the good guy or not but it feels swell slaying zombies, vampires and demons.

Grab it when it's under $10 and you'll get your money's worth - very fun!

You like Close Combat? Did it absorb your childhood? Are you any sort of RTS fan? Do you enjoy visceral visualizations and some sweet sound effects with your carnage? Is Cold War technology a like of yours? Do you want to see some superpowers duke it out?

If you answered yes to any of the above ...

Buy this.

Simply put, one of my favorite RTS games I have stumbled upon to date.

Brutal medieval warfare. I have a big love/hate relationship with this game. I love it when I cleave an opponents head off. I hate it when the tip of my blade misses or some graphics rendering/lag combination makes my sword go through a man with no result. I hate it when I'm getting crushed. But it is solid and the swordplay is fun.

A left click to swing/ right click to block mechanic that is easy to understand but hard to master. Throw in feinting and deliberate misses and varied swings with different speeds and it gets crazier too! Defintely a good purchase in the end. I'm sure the bugs will be ironed out eventually.
