Game just keeps getting more enjoyable the deeper into the story as you unlock more and more mechanics for your character. A lot deeper progression than the previous games for your character and added mechanics to the combat, without losing the feel of the original series. Pretty fun so far.

Incredible game, exceptionally high quality. The art style, music, and UI put most "AAA" titles to shame.

Nothing is copy pasted, the universe is unique and the theme of the story is incredibly relevant.

If you like this genre of games you need this in your library.

Some criticism exist for sure like all things, especially if you're looking for more of the first game, but other than some nitpicks it doesn't get much better than this.

Game is really cool, but keep it mind it's still very early. Not much to do but sandbox build a village as big as you can. Once you figure out how to do it sustainably it's pretty easy on any difficulty.

If you just want to build and watch a town grown this is for you. Right now there's not much to do besides that when compared to other city builders currently out.

Won't be supporting DLC practices like this, I don't care how good your game is.

But this also isn't even that good.

One of the best games ever made. If not for the botched launch it would easily be a top 3 game of all time.

The amount of art they put into this game is unbelievable. A masterpiece in terms of art, visuals, and music.

Ignore the bandwagon of hate and have one of the most unique and immersive gaming experiences ever.

Price is fair and I've been having a lot of fun with friends still on just the first map. Mechanics will take some learning, but there's a lot of depth behind the loot and crafting systems.

This game seems quite promising for the first 2 hrs or so.. which is about how long it takes to realize there is almost no progression, combat, or expansion. That would be fine as it's early access, but at this price I cannot recommend. I like how technology progression works, but there is frankly not enough of it. I think if I went back and played it knowing what I know now, I could reach the end game in less than an a hour. There is also near zero challenge. The only difficulty to survival is learning the mechanics/controls which are different from most games in the genre. My playtime includes my first very short failed run where I couldn't figure out how to process a chicken fast enough before my tribe started starving. Food is plentiful and cooked meat seems to never spoil. For instance, I had the tribe surviving off a single mammoth kill for the entire time I spent playing. A woman got pregnant, had a baby, and that baby grew into an adult still eating the same mammoth meat.

Unless you are looking for a incredibly easy sandbox colony building experience, this is a pass. Way better games doing similar things out right now that are just a better value.

There's maybe $5-10 of content currently.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IN 2022

The last patch in March 2021 is highly unstable for a lot of people's computers. I have played this game years ago without issue, but now it just does not function in an acceptable way.

I have a new PC with an RTX3080 and it consistently crashes no matter what fixes I can search up online. Complete lack of support from the developer on this issue for the past year. From what I've gathered this impacts people more with newer hardware than older.

I just bought the newest DLC and I feel scammed.

I had high hopes for season 3 of this game but the devs really can't help themselves when finding ways to make this game worse and worse.

I have a pretty high tolerance for early access shenanigans, but the corrupted save bug is a bit too much to swallow. I don't mind play testing games in development at all. I was an early beta supporter of the first game, my receipt in my email from 2006... but inevitably losing all your campaign progress is kind of where I'll draw the line.

Also the guaranteed CTDs when entering certain locations like Sea Raider camps and some cities are pretty bad as well considering you're likely to have a quest to one of these places and they have the potential to be campaign ending as well. It seems that starting a campaign as the norse faction will be pretty difficult with Sea Raider camps completely broken.

I would recommend waiting on this till it gets patched up a bit and I'll change my review when that happens.
