Live service games need to take a page out of DRG's book. This game is putting the biggest studios to shame especially with the recent integration of the battle pass system allowing you to return to past seasons, while maintaining your progress.... Anyone who still supports these big greedy corporate studios deserves to have their hard earned cashed yoinked from their pocket. Indie studios like Ghost Ship are truly paving the way for a new age of game development and I'm here to support them every step of the way, just pray they don't fall into darkness like our good buddy Karl!

Great game, could have competed with the likes of the COD/BF.

Sadly Devs took the money and ran, leaving this as abandonware.

Personally I love this game but cannot support it if developers won't either. Until we get a update I highly suggest avoiding this game.

Grab this game on sale if you're a fan of Gundam wing or other anime mecha franchises. This game is a solid 2d shooter experience with endless replay ability in the simulation mode ( horde mode). I've been playing this game during discord calls with friends since it's such a great game to just sit back relax and shoot the ♥♥♥♥ with some friends while you dunk on mechs in the background. I do hope this game gets a sequel and fleshes out the combat loop more as it's worth every penny on sale. For full price though it's asking for much since the campaign is quite short

Edit: Don't bother with the multiplayer it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage, I've S ranked multiple times. It's plagued with cheaters, and out of touch balancing, bad netcode, and overall not worth your time don't listen to the copiem huffers telling you it's " Balanced"

I'll be splitting this review into 2 segments as each mode of the game needs pretty much it's own separate review

Campaign: Overall a nice little 6 hour story campaign that ends up just being a massive tutorial for the other gamemode, but it still holds it's own very well. The story isn't revolutionary but the way it builds it's world and strings together it's story gives you enough motivation to get to point A-B. Half life fans will feel right at home with this title as the game wears it's inspiration on it's sleeve. Sadly the campaign only has 2 episodes at the moment with a 3rd in the works ( half life fans will have a familiar feeling about this), hoping it is released soon as the last mission was left on a cliff hanger and the anticipation is killing me.

Zone patrol: Well while we wait for the 3rd episode of the campaign, I wonder where to begin when it comes to this game mode? Zone patrol starts you off in a ship, you head to the command center, you get your orders, gear up, and then are sent off on the decollete waste land of Adaca. From there on in it is completely up to you in terms of uncovering what this world has to offer, there is literally zero hand holding with your only hints being told through the environment. This is where the game really starts to piece together, once you finally understand how things are supposed to work you can't help yourself but be gripped and addicted to discovering what this world holds. This game takes the best elements from Halo:Combat evolved, STALKER, Half Life, and other old school shooters a like. I seriously can't recommend this game enough, if you want a gripping single player game that doesn't hold your hand, then this is the title for you. Personally this is my game of the year, and I hope more people pick this game up, it is worth every cent!

The game feels like a cyber punk version of HotlineMiami and Mirrors Edge put together in a slick package, when you really get into the zone of this game you feel like a absolute turbo killer, this isn't a very complex game but requires you to be complex in your strategy, I wouldn't recommend this game to someone with slow reaction times or someone who hates 1 shot kill mechanics, as even though it takes 1 hit to finish your opponent you die just a fast as they, the game seriously rewards those who not only put in the time to learn the mechanics of the game but master them also. My only draw back I would say for someone who enjoys games like this is the enemy's called Wardens, in my opinion they really bring the break neck pace of this game to a crawl as you literally have to wait for them to attack you before you can counter them, considering their attack is done in a literal blink of an eye it becomes extremely frustrating to be slicing people at warp speed only to have to wait for a dude to initiate his attack while you have to dodge and block 100 different other dudes in order to survive. Beyond that this game is totally worth your time, story is pretty predictable but does a pretty good job of world building so you feel like you have some form of motivation to go from point a to b, the boss fights are actually extremely well done each of them testing if you cheesed your way to get there or payed attention to all the nuances. if I needed to give a score for this game it gets a solid 8/10, as I'm looking into running though the game again on it's "hard mode" or new game + mode, game goes on sale a lot also so next time you feel like giving lord gaben some of your hard earned dollaz throw some at Ghost Runner
