While it has some cool gameplay at times, the experience of Everhood 2 is nowhere near the level of the first game. 20 nonsensical fake-out "endings" later I just found myself begging for it to be over.

Early Access Review
This game is extremely scary, fun, and interesting. However, in future updates I would love to see things like cosmetic items or ship upgrades carry across failures - as it can be kind of a buzzkill to re-obtain - and makes these items barely worth investing in. I also think that losing XP on death is an alright idea, but you lose so much that it makes you not want to go exploring dangerous areas - which is what makes for the most memorable moments. Overall for 10 bucks it's an absolute steal, and a blast to play with friends - but there is definitely room for improvement (and I'm sure the developer will more than deliver as time goes on).

Great game, but unfortunately inferior to the original. The new weapons are all really fun to use, but I found this game significantly easier than the original - with the exception of the little arena fights they make you do almost nonstop. When difficulty comes about in Blasphemous 2 I often found it more of a chore than a challenge. Another problem I frequently came upon is being stun locked and instantly killed by many attacks, with seemingly no way to escape, as this game has almost no post-hit invincibility - a problem I do not recall encountering in the first game. The bosses, while easier, all all brilliantly designed and fun to fight - even though they may often be lacking in challenge. The world is also really unique, but not quite as interesting as the world of the first Blasphemous in my opinion. I do look forward to potential expansions down the line. Overall, I would recommend this game if you like the first - but if you haven't played the first definitely give that a try before this one. This game still feels like Blasphemous, but can feel slightly off at times - almost like a strange DLC rather than a sequel. Upon completion of the first game I wanted to jump right into a second play through, but by the end of Blasphemous 2 I had already gotten my fill.

I would like to preface this review by admitting that I am not a huge fan of zombie games in general. In my opinion the genre has been done to death and it takes a ton of charm and unique traits to stand out in the hordes (pun intended) of zombie games. This game is an anomaly. Sony already has The Last of Us - which in my opinion is a much more enjoyable zombie game with a lot of heart put into it. Days Gone really doesn't need to exist. There are some cool elements here and there, such as upgrading your weapons and bike... but these mechanics remind more of better games such as Mad Max more than anything else. In addition to this, the zombies hardly have a bearing on the story at all, and when they do it is quickly forgotten. The writing in this game is EXTREMELY bland, and even more so predictable. Every single event in the story you can see coming a mile away - hell you practically know how the game is going to end just as you begin. Complement this with several bugs and filler missions and you've got a recipe for disaster. The hordes in this game are a disaster, even on lower difficulties. You have to chip away at them in a manner that is not fun at all, and some simple changes in mechanics, such as being able to throw molotovs from your bike would greatly have helped. It is also hard to root for any of these characters, as they do nothing for half the game. When something happens to them it's really hard to even give a ♥♥♥♥. Days Gone also suffers from menus that while over time become familiar, are unnecessarily confusing to a brand new player. There was also little to no desire to do side missions or activities in my opinion either - but I did them in order to upgrade my equipment. This was something I genuinely did enjoy, but these moments were unfortunately few and far between. If you're a big zombie game or survival enthusiast I do think there is something here for you - but there are just so many better similar games that Days Gone just seems to fall short in nearly every aspect. But hey, at least it's optimized well.

TLDR: Mediocre zombie game I can only recommend to huge fans of the genre.

Pathologic 2 is an interesting game. If you ever had interest in the original but couldn't get past the clunkiness of how the game actually played - Pathologic 2 remedies that extremely well. That being said, I cannot and will not say that this is a game for everyone. But those looking for a unique experience unlike anything you've played before, or even those looking for a challenge... look no further. You'll often find yourself not enjoying Pathologic 2, at least in terms of gameplay, or wondering if the decisions you are making are the right calls. However, that is where I believe the beauty of this game shines through. Because that is the entire point. It is one of the most brutal survival games I have ever played and a great majority of the time you are playing you are trying to balance saving the town, those close to you, and of course... yourself. I look forward to what Ice-Pick Lodge puts out eventually for this sequel, as I was always fascinated by the world of Pathologic - but didn't quite get it. Now I do. If you are someone who likes to be a perfectionist and make all of the right decisions in a game, you will be very challenged by Pathologic 2. The game itself says it best:

You can't be everywhere. You can't save everyone.

MDHR put love into every frame of this game and its DLC... and it shows. If you don't mind a challenge, Cuphead deserves recognition in my book as one of the best boss-oriented bullet-hell games ever made. The run and gun levels I could take or leave, and I wish that the airplane levels allowed for a more diverse use of weapons and charms like the on-foot levels have - but they're still fun and great. The addition of the simple and expert modes are also wonderful, as they allow for more challenge for those who want it, and less for those that aren't quite used to a high level of difficulty out of the gate.

I love the concept of this game. But with how dark it is (and I mean literally, it's tough to see just about anything half the time) and how much backtracking is involved just to progress... I wouldn't exactly describe it as enjoyable to play. If nothing else though - Layers of Fear is extremely interesting from a visual perspective.

On top of being criminally short for the asking price, the developer screwed over anybody that bought Chapter one by making it free - with no compensation, discount, or even acknowledgement to those who helped support the game earlier through purchase. Because of this I have no interest in continuing the game, nor do I recommend anybody else waste their time or money on what frankly acts more as a tech demo than an actual game.
