The game just doesn't hold up to original insurgency which has now lost support from the devs. It doesn't feel like insurgency it feels like there was an attempt to appeal to a wider audience by making it COD like, but it just feels clunky in a bad way not like OG insurgency clunky. There are too many guns and attachments that are too cheap and it doesn't feel like im sacrificing anything when choosing a load out. Maps feel claustrophobic and poorly designed where to cross an area of a the map you have to expose yourself to a dozen angles you can't clear and there often aren't alternative pathings. The directional audio is poor and its almost impossible to hear enemy footsteps even full sprint at over 10ft, as well as its very difficult to pinpoint where shots are coming from visual as there is either no muzzle flash or smoke, so even if someone whiffs a mag on me when im out in the open I'm likely to die before getting to cover because I don't get an opportunity to punish someone who makes a mistake or misses. The game doesn't know what it wants to be or what it wanted to do better or different than the OG insurgency, it just feels like a mediocre cash grab game that lacks vision or focus.

This is by far one of my favorite games of all time and in my opinion the pinnacle of first person shooters. Counter Strike has always achieved elegance with simplicity, the mechanics are seemingly simple but the learning curve is massive and incredibly extensive making this game addictive and enjoyable. Also, being made on the source engine, the game is very stable and well optimized in all aspects; Networking, GPU/CPU usage, etc.
