Spent 10 minutes and about 30 attempts to come up with a name that was slightly "RPG appropriate" and not just a random jumble of letters and numbers that wasn't already taken. Gave up and uninstalled. Back to Guild Wars 2!

After the disaster that was OMD:Unchained, I had lost faith in them to make a proper sequel to the first two games. Fortunately I was wrong, and this is it. OMD3 is everything I loved about OMD1 and 2 but with more features, like the war scenarios. I'm only 12 missions in currently, but I'm loving the game so far and can't wait to see it grow. Maybe it's just because the slow slog of collecting new weapons in OMD:Unchained, the bar for "enjoyable" was set very low... but this one is fun so far!

A fantastic implementation of 5e tabletop rules into a computer game. Unlike Baldurs Gate 3, they put the ruleset front and center and are very transparent with dice rolls, advantage/disadvantage, bonuses, etc. The character creation system is top notch and allows for plenty of customization. I'm not far enough in to comment on the story yet, but the rest of the game's engine has me hooked. If they were to put this out with DM tools so we could just run our own game on their engine, it would be the perfect game.

Graphically it's a bit "meh" but it doesn't matter, the rest of the game more than makes up for the slightly antiquated graphics in the dialogue scenes.

There are a lot of complaints on the forum that this game "doesn't feel like Baldur's Gate" because it's not a realtime game. There are a lot more complaints about how the combat action economy is implemented with move, action, bonus action like in the 5e tabletop game. There are complaints about how the dice rolls work for skill checks in conversation for things like Deception, Intimidation, etc. In short, there are a lot of complaints by people who have no idea how 5e or tabletop D&D works.

To be honest, this is the best implementation of a tabletop RPG in a computer game I've played in the 30 years I've been doing this. Doing it as a turn based system allows you to be tactical and manage the battlefield like you would if you were rolling real dice. Keeping the move/action/bonus makes it feel like the real thing. There are absolutely things that need to be improved upon and they will be since we're literally 2 days into Early Access as I write this review, but the core of the game is solid and just needs some polish. I'm nearly 30 hours into the game, have already re-rolled 2 new characters to try new paths and explore new possibilities, and can definitely see myself spending many, many more hours in the game as it gets fleshed out through EA and full release.

In short, if you think BG3 should just be a new story shoved into the old Infinity engine, this game might not be for you. If you want the best implementation of a tabletop game on a PC.... give this a shot

Not since Civilization IV has 2am snuck up on me like it did with this game. There are moments when it's frustrating, but then you work through that frustration and oops, there went 3 hours. Spend time organizing early on or you'll end up frustrated and tearing down everything you have to rebuild it correctly!

Simply put, THE best RPG game I've ever played on PC. The turn/round based combat in this that stops for every action introduces a style of play closer to tabletop RPGs than any of the other games out there that claim to replicate tabletop RPGs. And that's without even touching GM Mode, which lets you run a game even more tabletop style.

For whatever reason, I started and stopped playing this game about 10 times before I FINALLY got back into it in the last month or so. The opening "ship" level can be a little slow, but I assure you.... grind through it, give it time, and it's absolutely worth it.

Hands down the best city construction simulator ever. Tons of available mods, a few great DLCs, and a game that you can easily sit down to "play for half an hour or so" before you realize it's 3 days later.

Editing my review after playing this game more. The 1.0 release was atrocious. It was not ready for release, but they stuck to their schedule and pushed it out the door anyway. That was a terrible idea.

In the months since, the game has gotten worlds better. VR support is on par with anything on the market, unlike the 1.0 release. The physics feel better and the cars are more planted. The rating system in game has gotten better. And the AI no longer does some of the bizarre stuff it used to.

All in all, the game is worth picking up finally.

I used to hate this game because it would DQ your laps if you so much as glanced at a curb. They fixed that and made it more realistic (lenient). The AI has some quirks, like being able to blast through the "bus stop" areas of tracks like Watkins Glen and Daytona way faster than player cars seem capable of, but it's a pretty solid AI to race against. And the game is absolutely GORGEOUS in VR. Hands down the best looking of all the sims out there.

I don't know if it's still worth $60/$90... but you should definitely pick it up when it goes on sale.

Beautiful game, but horribly broken at the present. Any controller plugged in will cause the controls to freak out and require the controller to be unplugged. Will re-buy the game if it's ever fixed, but had to refund because it's unplayable for now.
