This may be the best $12 I've ever spent on Steam... or anywhere. I just got an Oculus, I was looking around at VR games today, and I saw this. I put it on my wishlist and said "I'll get it if it goes on sale." Then I kept looking at it, and kept looking at it, and kept looking at it.

Don't be like me. Don't procrastinate. BUY IT NOW! RIGHT NOW! And then when you load it up for the first time and the warning says "You're going to flail your arms around wildly, so make sure your play area is clear"......... HEED THAT WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!

Put simply, the controls are atrocious. The game has serious potential to be fun if it weren't so frustrating. There's no way to even remotely be consistent or know how much power you're using, so you just smack a ball around some pretty courses. And it is VERY pretty. But short of a complete revamp of the controls, I'd advise staying far far away from this game.

This game simulates an online Forza/Gran Turismo race, but in single player mode! Nothing quite like trying to actually race and go fast only to be punted repeatedly by people who don't know what the brake pedal is and have no recourse in it. The demolition derby mode is entertaining, but trying to actually race in the game is absolutely terrible. If all you want is to smash cars... sure... it'll do. If you want to actually race and "try"........... look elsewhere. Apparently the best brake compound in the world is your bumper!

Played with a steam controller on a monitor....

Off-roading is an exercise in subtlety, patience, and finesse. This game has NONE of those things. The throttle is binary, meaning you're either sitting still or rocketing forward at a speed that won't allow you to do anything except hang on for dear life. Even with the Steam Controller, barely applying throttle, the vehicle wants to shoot forward like you're flooring it in a McLaren F1 car. Don't buy this. Just don't. Spintires is a MUCH better off-roader if that's what you're looking for. And if you want VR toys, I'm sure there are much better examples of those out there too.

I got in on this years ago during early access before it was on Steam based on the promise of a "Tycoon" game. At the time it was nothing but an engine designer. This game has grown into an AMAZING platform for designing cars and engines, even if the original "Tycoon" premise is yet to really manifest itself. There's now a "Lite" mode, but it doesn't even matter because the design portion is so entralling.

If you're into cars at all, YOU NEED THIS GAME.

One of the most addictive games I've ever played. You can start it when you get home from work at 6pm, and before you know it, it's 6am, you forgot to sleep, your dinner got cold, and it's time to shower for work the next day. The comparisons to Dwarf Fortress are apt. While it lacks the depth of Dwarf Fortress on the micromanagement side, it retains all of the !FUN! due to the narrator system and random events. I can't wait to see how this game pans out in the long run!

All grind, no fun. I'm 1.5 hours in and have played the same map about 10 times in a row now just trying to earn enough materials to buy a new trap. The game feels like a cheap knockoff of the OMD brand by one of the many "Pay to Win" companies out there and definitely not a sequel to the prior two games.
