The entire studio got laid off today, so I would treat this as an abandoned project.

Not to be outdone by the atrocious release of Cities: Skylines 2, the DLC team said "Hold my beer" and put together a pack with 4 trees and a dozen properties then slapped a $10 price tag on it to TRULY win the "Burn all our goodwill" competition. I feel ripped off having bought the Expansion Pass knowing that there MIGHT be something redeeming in the future. I can't imagine how ripped off someone would feel if they actually dropped $10 on this absolute slap in the face from a company that USED to have a great reputation.

I'm guessing this is mostly a "We have a deadline to hit so ship what we've got" issue, but it's still absolute garbage that's not worth the cost.

Missing the "living world" aspect that made SnowRunner feel so fun. Everything is just a disjointed series of missions. Even the "Free Roam" mode is just a mission. Go out... find a new task to do... realize you don't have the supplies to do that task that you didn't know about before free roaming.... Return to HQ and start again. You can't just leave a truck somewhere, go grab another like in Snowrunner, and continue on.

The game may improve but for now it lacks the feel that Snowrunner had. It's like a bunch of challenge missions and those missions are a surprise until you load in. Hope you bought enough supplies before leaving camp! This one is a pass for now, with a qualified "wait and see" for the future.

It puts the FUN in "Fundamentally broken"

The potential is there, but the game isn't yet. I want to like this game because of the voxel terrain and building aspects, but it's just not ready yet. The controls are clunky, leading to things like missing jumps and falling to your death. The gameplay is grindy, it takes 3000+xp to advance from level 2 to level 3, and the enemies you encounter at level 2 give 27xp each. Resource gathering is a chore. Unlike other recently released "survival crafting" games, you have to have everything in your personal inventory to build because it won't pull from your base inventory.

After some QOL fixes and rebalancing it might be fun, but as it stands at this point in early access it just feels like a colossal and clunky grind.

Game will not launch because of EA Anti-Cheat. Even though I only want to play offline... no way to remove or launch without anti-cheat. Spent hours trying to make it work before just refunding it.

I have been playing DF for around 15 years, and today I am delighted to be able to give them money for it. It's going to take a while to reprogram my brain from the old keybinds to the current keybinds, but other than that I am loving this. It's like seeing an old friend who went away on vacation and came back better than ever.

It feels like Rimworld without all the organ harvesting and war crimes. It's a bit of a slow game to start, but once you get the hang of it, it's a ton of fun.

Buggy as hell.... Frontier has already dropped support and updates for it after barely two months. DO NOT BUY!

This is a game. Is it a great game? No? Is it a good game? No? Is it a bad game? Also no. But for some reason I just can't stop playing it. If your brain needs that seratonin hit from finding something, it's wonderful. Add in your favorite adult beverage or other means of inebriation, and it gets even better. This is definitely a "buy it when it goes on special" game and I cannot put my finger on why.
